I suppose he also wants Blagolovich to get it over with and name a replacement to that senate seat.

Shut up, Bloomberg. The seat isn't even officially vacant, nor has Hillary officially announced an effective date for her resignation. All things in time.

It's time they choose someone from Utica, Syracuse, Schenectady... towns where someone has something a little off about them.

Look...it takes time for money the get cold in the freezer. The pay-off's have been slow this time around?

So what is the going Dem price for a Senate seat? Is it on SALE due to the recession?

No, this is Politico fabricating a story from a portion of a broader quote -- which isn't even fully furnished in the linked article.

Politico is just the latest incarnation of repackaged drivel to keep the rhetoric shifting away from. . . .minor stuff . . .like policy and shiat.

Governance isn't worthy of political coverage -- personalities are.

Dear Gov. Patterson,

Please put the smackdown on this Kennedy legacy bullshiat once and for all, so we, as a nation, can all move on into the 21st century without any more Kennedys in public office.

Thank You.

What's up with all the hate on Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg Kennedy? Being rich, white and privileged is a common requirement of being in the House of Lords Senate.

what_now [TotalFark] 2008-12-23 09:03:08 AM
I still think there should be special elections for all open senate seats. It's so hard to get rid of someone once they're a senator, it should be hard to get the job too.

Also, what you did there submitter. I see it.

It's funny to watch Fark Independents and Freepers join together to hate the Kennedys. I guess jealousy knows no fake ideological boundaries.

Yeah, snapperhead.
And you were the first to bash Bush because of his family connections.

Drop dead already.

Watching wingnuts slob each other's knobs over the Kennedy's is one the weirdest forms of social masturbation. But it does seem to be the prerequisite for mutual identification -- like when dogs sniff each other's butt on first meeting.

I think it is really prejudice to not want to pick a person because of who their family is. Every person should be considered equally on merit and not picked because or in spite of family/friendship ties. I think Caroline has some excellent qualifications but I am rather against the whole nomination of anyone to public office and believe in elections (but I guess thats another argument). I also wish they would have a Senator that was more in touch with the destitution that is upstate NY.

For appointments to normally elected positions in public office, yep.

Private company, do whatever you want.

/either way it is in Gov. Patterson's hands now and we can only hope he has the proper vision.

Can I be the first to state the fairly obvious and say that Caroline Schlossberg's maiden name SHOULDN'T matter AT FREAKING ALL? Just like - horror of horrors! - maybe Hillary isn't evil just because she's a Clinton or the stupid meme about voting against people just because they happen to have a famous last name demonstrates a stunning lack of insight?

And this goes for both sides of the aisle, by the way. I'm not hot on Jeb, but that goes outside of the fact that his brother was an epic screw-up.

Perhaps the blind dude in Albany has better insight than most Farkers.

And yeah, I know, serious business in your Fark and all, responding to trolls, etc., etc. I don't farking care.

Let's see... one family has produced an overall good president (being harsh, if were were being hyperbolic, we could say a great president), arguably the greatest senator of the second half of this century, another senator who was very likely to have been president, and many other public servants and charitable works.

The other, one mediocre president, and another simply awful one, and a few awful governorships. No legislative experience, and a long line of incompetence.

Yeah, There's a REASON we can enjoy the Kennedy's service while looking scornfully at Bushies. Pretending they're the same when one is obviously acceptable while the other is obviously not is not a very Conservative view.

Paterson so far seems like he might be decent, I really don't give a fark who he picks for senate if he can help reign in spending and lower the taxes over time.
