I talked to my parents yesterday. They absolutely LOVED Palin! They thought McCain had really scored a big one when he picked her. They even described item by item how and why the press and the public had judged her incorrectly.

If I didn't look so much like both of my parents, I'd be positive that I was adopted ;)

But back then, weeks ago, when that initial bailout [of financial institutions] was proposed, remember, it was considered at the time a rescue and not necessarily a bailout

Even when she manages to spit out a coherent sentence, it's filled with stupidity.

No wonder she's so popular.

I am 100% in favor of Sarah Palin talking to more reporters. She's just so. . . fungible!

Do you mean me as in me and my wife, or do you mean my parents?

I'm easy to find. Come on down. My folks, not so much. They're on their third motor home, but I'm sure they'd love a lively discussion. They're bored ;)

It would probably do more good to get Obama re-elected than donating to Obama '12.

It's just the misogynist liberal media that twisted her words, donchaknow. It's because liberals hate strong, independent women who don't can't name the countries in North America and are incapable of getting out of the way of a turkey slaughter.

As I said in that last thread, which went full retard pretty quickly, Sarah Palin is Ann Coulter with better tits.

I'd say the biggest mistake was choosing Palin. ...And whoever ran his campaign. ...And running for President.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen McCain from 2000 vs. Obama. I think it would've been a good campaign.

Strength is honesty. Palin was just the GOP's whiney, lying, little biatch. We could call her Tits Cheney.

good candidates will do that. Of course McCain 2000 didn't have some of his opinions that I disagreed with because those issues themselves didn't exist yet. However, even knowing what I do now about McCain, I believe he would have been better than Bush.

Lionel Mandrake [TotalFark] 2008-12-22 04:44:27 PM
But if I would have been in charge, I would have wanted to speak to more reporters because that's how you get your message out to the electorate.

So do I. I would have liked to see Obama cross the 450 EV threshold...giving you more air time would have probably done it.

"conservatives" fell in love with Palin when they first heard her name because the party wanted them to. It's the same reason that they were all so rabid over McCain after viciously hating him when he was in Bush's way.

They do what is expected of them for the team. NOTHING ELSE.

We should start a PAC "Democrats for Palin," and ensure that she has an insurmountable financial lead by Iowa 2012.

A great example of this was one day after she was announced as the VP pick was people all over the place talking about how she was a maverick and had executive experience less than 24 hours after hearing her name and being given the talking points.

My perspective may be skewed, but the Dems don't seem to just accept whomever they are told to. If that were the case, we'd be looking at President Hillary. Obama had to really work his way into acceptance by a lot of Dems.

Anyone read the comments? Pure GOLD!

Comments spoken like a true leader of working for the people. The GOP needs more like her in leadership.

Sarah shows more maturity in her comments than some politicians who have a lifetime of experience in politics. We need more like her and soon.

I am looking forward to seeing Sarah in the future...she truly shook up the establishment, and stirred up the pot for many who, like her, are out there in public service whom we do not hear much about, but are up and coming with the straight up, no nonsense, way's of thinking which our govt so desperately needs.

I was truly revived, when she was announced by McCain, and she proved time and time again, she was most definitely worth her salt. It's too bad that she was not allowed to unleash as much as she could have been...but I'm sure that won't happen again in the future.

I do know this......that if this country wants to truly stand tall again......then the old adage comes into play.........

"behind every strong and true man.....Is a woman!"

Look forward to seeing you again Sarah!!!

I love how this interview is for her being named the magazine's "Conservative of the Year"

Because nothing is more conservative than taking over a town of under 10,000 with a balanced budget and leaving it over $20 million in debt by the time you're through with it. Yeah, real conservative. Being unable to intelligently talk about anything related to policy other than "Drill baby drill", also a really good thing to put out there as your "Conservative of the Year". Good lord, they still don't understand why they're losing voter share all over the country, do they?

Actually, all that should make her Religious Conservative / Republican of the Year -- spending us into oblivion without paying for it is EXACTLY what they've stood for over the last 8 years, along with not letting gays get married.

I disagree in part with this. Conservative men fell in love because she was essentially a cheerleader - dumb, but somehow charming and attractive. She gave them all a hard on.

Indeed. Nothing says "Presidential caliber" quite like giving an interview while some schmuck is standing behind you, exsanguinating turkeys, or demonstrating that your knowledge of geography wouldn't get you past the first round of "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?"

The attacks on Palin are unfair. She performed poorly on one interview and people presume that she is stupid or uninformed. It was her first major interview, so she was probably just a little bit nervous. Stage fright doesn't equate to stupidity.

McCain should have let Palin interact a lot more with the press, if only to clear up the misconceptions that she is an idiot.
