Here's to the new boss, same as the old boss. NOW do you believe me when I say they're simply replacing one Republicrat hack with another? The only "CHANGE tm" you're getting is the nameplate on the door.

Nobody likes the press except for the press. It's not their job to be liked and it's not their job to cover anyone favorably or unfavorably based on whether or not that person likes them. Just do your farking jobs and shut the fark up about high school bullshiat.

furiousxgeorge [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 07:25:00 PM
Damn, I'll miss all those amazingly kind things the media did for him, like attacking him for a month over a thirty second quote from his pastor.

Cog [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 07:26:11 PM
Good.

Cyclometh 2008-12-21 07:26:16 PM
FTFA:

At press conference after press conference, Obama introduced his new appointees and took a few questions.

Bush has given about 50 press conferences in his entire tenure as President. He gave one as President-Elect. In most of his press conferences, he answers few questions regardless.

Obama's already set a record for press conferences as President-Elect, surpassing every President-Elect since before Reagan (and probably long before that).

There's no reason to suspect he won't continue the pattern of holding frequent press conferences.

If the "honeymoon" was over, he'd simply be doing what Bush did and refusing to hold any at all.

St_Francis_P [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 07:27:24 PM
I'll wait and see how he does. I'm not sure I care if he keeps the press happy.

Don't you know that just saying "they're all the same" absolves him of any responsibility as a citizen for the state of the nation?

burndtdan: and asking him such poignant questions as "do you love america more than reverend wright?" and "do you love the flag?"

Hell, those questions were at a nationally televised Presidential primary debate.

What honeymoon, dumbmitter?

when can we expect the fark mod/flametastic headline honeymoon to draw to a close?

Peter von Nostrand 2008-12-21 10:01:58 PM
I guess rolling the tape of Palin saying he pals around with terrorists over and over and over again was what, their blissful engagement time? How many of these media/honeymoon/Obama threads are going to get greenlit?

BooBoo23 [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 10:03:09 PM
Uh, no. The lamestream MSM media have a vested interest in keeping Mr. President-elect Redistributionist afloat. I don't expect anything to change.

LittleSmitty 2008-12-21 10:05:17 PM
As long as the dude doesn't pork fat interns or start unprovoked wars, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being

Mistah Scrotie 2008-12-21 10:06:20 PM
Can we go one week without an article asking if Obama's media honeymoon is over? Instead of anticipating news or making news, why doesn't the media just cover the news?

Heh. You neo-cons, so cute. I wonder what administration/s caused the bulk of the problems that led up to the financial crisis, and authorized the biggest welfare distribution in history- to some of the richest companies and people in the world.

But, please, keep whining. It's ever so entertaining to watch. :)

When you stop commenting on the flametastic headlines.

EwoksSuck 2008-12-21 10:11:41 PM
So a right wing publication filled with pundits who have screamed for years about how the mainstream media they despise has a huge liberal bias and is now declaring Obama hates the press and we should be concerned about it. Irony? Especially since this publication has regularly defended the Bush administration's use of executive privilege and national security to try and hide it's blatant crimes. Irony or stupid talking points? You decide.

Let's see:

Community Reinvestment Act
signed by Carter

Updates to the CRA
Clinton

Glass-Steagall Act
repealed by Clinton

Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000
signed by Clinton

Yes, all Bush's fault. It was Republicans who biatched that banks were "red-lining" and wouldn't give loans to poor minorities because they were racist.

and authorized the biggest welfare distribution in history
Pelosi, Dodd and Frank had NOTHING to do with it. Congress approves spending.

Idiot.

The lamestream mainstream media media?

How's high school?

Phil Herup 2008-12-21 10:19:23 PM
They got him elected.

Now they still have to make money.

Commence attacks.

/Mr. Obama do what you feel is right. If the press is pissed, your are a good guy.

Hueg_Redd: when can we expect the fark mod/flametastic headline honeymoon to draw to a close?

Well Drew told us they would stop after the election.

How is that working out?

carmody 2008-12-21 10:21:17 PM
Doesn't he actually have to be in office before the "honeymoon" starts? Last I heard we still had a month of Old Whistlebutt to bear.

Mordant: So... we should expect the neocons to stop their shrill whining about it in about what... 16 years ?

When President Trig Palin (R) has to give a press-conference on the Sack of D.C. by the Canadians in the year 2037, they'll still blame it on Obama.

Corvus 2008-12-21 10:24:08 PM
By the way now they are saying those "45" calls from Emanuel to Blogojevich never actually happened and the FBI says Emanuel never did anything wrong, but I am not holding my breath for that story to get green lit on FARK even thought we got accusation threads about it like 3 or 4 times a day greenlit.

Clinton, obviously. Haven't you been paying attention for the last 8 years?

lincoln65 2008-12-21 10:26:03 PM
1. Why do we care?
2. Isn't this the third time Fark's ran this headline? In fact, I think the first time they ran this story, it read "Obama honeymoon with media officially over"

I mean come on. This is [not]news, you're not supposed to have reruns.

CRA has nothing do with this. Just because you repeat this lie does not make it real.

You guys sound like crazy idiots because it is disproved every time you bring it up but you guys still bring it up every time.

The CRA paved the way for ARMs. Before the CRA, you needed to live within your means when purchasing a home!

Finally we will get the true story on:

1) He cheated on his wife several times

2) Got the marriage license before his divorce was final

3) Wife was so addicted to drugs she was stealing from the charity where she worked

4) Get to the bottom of the story of how he was born outside the USA

5) Full explanation of the 5 1/2 years spent with our communist enemies

6) Despite pitiful grades in college he was allowed to graduate, due soley to his "ancestry"

At long last we will finally get the truth from the media about McCain, sorry, I mean Obama.

Klingon Penis 2008-12-21 10:31:05 PM
Hey, can we have a "OOH WE HATES OBAMA WE HATES HIM" post that doesn't smack of desperation, please? Thanks.

godofusa.com: The CRA paved the way for ARMs. Before the CRA, you needed to live within your means when purchasing a home!

Uhh, the CRA regulated loans, or at least the overwhelming majority thereof, are NOT ARMs; in fact the regulatory agencies strongly cautioned banks against ARMs especially for low-income individuals, because it has a huge risk of payment shock.

Most CRA-originated loans are prime fixed-rate, with most of the remainder being subprime fixed-rate.

ARMs were pushed by the industry itself as a response to the S&L crisis, which among other things was exacerbated by people who locked into 30 year loans at low interest rates just before a whole series of rate hikes.
