Mokwa was the same asswipe whose daughter was driving cars that had been towed and confiscated from innocent people by the corrupt towing company in bed with the cops.

Everything is a political rant against democrats with you.
It's their money and they can do what they want with it. If they want something nice now and then they've more than earned it after all these years of taking care of us.

bwahahahahahah.

The streets of STL should be lined with gold. Instead, it's the badges. bwahahaha take that, all the rest of us.......

This is pretty offensive. That money should have been used for something else, like maybe an extra patrol or two of the area around Bellefontaine and Calvary Cemeteries.

You know, JFK once said "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Do you think this country got where it is today by people like you acting like backseat drivers? Just sitting on their asses, pestering hard-working government employees to justify and explain every last little thing they do with their own government money?

Get with it already.

You know. You're right. It's extremely selfish of me to expect enough security should I want to see some of the finest stone and iron work in the region or pay my respects to Tennessee Williams, Dred Scott or William S. Burroughs.

I'll just pack my .45 like the alderman suggests.

I don't know what you want the government to do about it. They've already made it illegal. The police will try to protect you, but I mean come on, how do you expect them to stop what might happen to you? They simply can't enforce this kind of law, they can only hope to catch it after the fact. By then the harm has been done and there isn't much point. Nope, better to focus on the stuff they can prevent, like trans fats and seat belts.

It's not their money - It's the public's money. It's not that he wants something nice, He want wants something excessive. If He wanted it so friggin bad, he should've saved his own cash on top of the city's purchase... then he truly earned it.

Nice run against common sense by using the group term to shift responsibility against the individual. Pass the buck!

Funny, The Chief asked what the country can do for him about that nice solid gold badge. By suggesting better use of expenditures, Wheeljunkie served his country.

It doesn't serve the country if expenditures was excessively wasted upon absurdly expensive no-bid items.

That was fun

No that money belongs to the people and is entrusted to them in order to facilitate public safety. It isn't meant to be used as gaudy chest adornments for public officials.

"Their money?" They get "their money" from taxes, or didn't you know that?

And if they're keeping seized money to add to their funds, even legally seized money, that presents a HUGE conflict of interest when they have a monetary incentive to take your money. Considering the $6M in wrongly seized assets mentioned in TFA, you can see the end result of this conflict of interest.

Corruption is corruption, regardless of political party or office.

The cop said I seemed like a nice guy and could probably get out of it but he still gave me a farking ticket. I also got pulled over driving to my dad's wedding going 75 in w rok zone where the sign said "speeding fines doubled when workers were present." There weren't any workers present and it cost me $200. Plus the cop knew I was going to a wedding cause he asked me where I was headed.

You broke the law twice and were ticketed twice, and you now hate the police, all of them?

Even the ones that will attend when you call 911 one day because your property is stolen/life is in danger/etc?

That is perfectly logical. I was in the supermarket and a small child bumped into me even though I was walking backwards with a bag on my head, now I hate all kids and rant about it online.

Dumbass, if it's listed in a public place... someone's going to find it.

melt them down, sell the scrap metal, and donate it to the local next local charity, either that or buy a few new patrol cars, what a gross misuse of taxpayers money! the city should immediately pass an ordinance or reg to put a price cap on spending for this item in the future, that way they clearly will have a budget to live by. Also no bonus or raise for the idiots who approved this, in fact lets dock their pay for not following the supposed procedure.

Pilate: "Not many people know this, but the turtle is nature's suction cup!"

I still wanna know what his role was supposed to be in the movie.

The actor died in a motorcycle accident during filming, and they had to write him out of the script but his scenes were too funny- and worked ok as stand-alones- to leave out.

So somehow he was surely going to be part of the big rescue along with "SUPPLIES!!" and all. But we may never know...

Have you ever called a cop when someone has broken into your home? I have, it took him two hours to get there and the guy could have killed and then raped me and my family in that time. I don't think you know what it's like to be killed and then raped. I guarantee it's not pleasant. Cops don't care about citizens they just enjoy the power trip. It's the same with lawyers, they don't care about justice, they care about money. Hobbes was right.

I'm confused. Even if it was solid gold it shouldn't have cost that much for a badge.

So, you think its okay that a stop sign is obstructed from view, yet drivers are still ticketed for it? Signs like that are supposed to be clearly visible; if not, it is the responsibility of the local government to make it so the sign is clear. In this case, probably the same government that employs the cop that is out hitting his quota off of a known obstructed sign.

As for the construction zone, you're also okay with being fined double in a work zone without workers present even when the sign states that the double fines are applicable only when workers are there.

You must enjoy having your rights trampled over, or you're somehow affiliated with government or law enforcement.
