Anus the Menace is, was, and will forever be the funniest band name.

Rev. Skarekroe: Kathleen Turner Overdrive's been around for ages.

So has Kathleen Turner.

But she still looks prety good all things considered. (had lunch with her last week)

I did a Google search on my kids name and came up with a death metal band that is her namesake. Strange considering it's a pretty rare name combo Link (new window)

pellies [recently expired TotalFark] 2008-12-21 04:03:32 PM
I was in the band "George Jefferson Airplane" in the early nineties, followed by a short stint in "BTO shiatwagon".

/Ahead of my time?

ahaze 2008-12-21 04:03:59 PM
WHAT?! Lee Press On and the Nails (new window) have been playing some of the most entertaining swing music in the Bay Area for YEARS! Lee himself is a fricking genius. They're not (random thing) and (random other thing), the name makes perfect sense.

Mr. Chainsaw 2008-12-21 04:13:54 PM
I laughed at Harrison Ford Escort, June With a Cleaver, and John Wilkes' Kissing Booth. Andrew Jackson Jihad are actually really good.

I've heard of them playing in Ellum, but it's been years. My vote still goes to the Revolting Cocks

A band in my old highschool was named "the right to arm bears" I thought it was pretty creative.

My favorite will always be Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza.

MrMaxwell 2008-12-21 04:52:08 PM
If you say "Diarrhea Anne Frank" in a thick New England accent, it's funnier.

What about 'Peeping Tom Collins' or 'Al Sharptons Hair-piece'

Wheres the Magnum Jihad?
Wheres the Witchpenis?

Third_Uncle_Eno 2008-12-21 05:03:18 PM
my friend's band is called "Six Vinyl Penguins", which was silly cuz they only had four memebers. Sometimes a guy in a giant penguin suit would get up on stage at shows with them and dance along to the music, which i thought was slightly hilarious, but then again, i was drinking.

dan_kronske 2008-12-21 05:09:07 PM
Blessed By A Broken Heart is an amazing band. Too bad their band has a shiatty name.

Gangway Fathead 2008-12-21 05:18:24 PM
I think cute band names are great but in general, the cuter the name the worse the music.

Except for the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Was Natalie Portman's Shaved Head mentioned in TFA? I like that ponytail song.

Ignorant McNugget 2008-12-21 05:19:47 PM
If I ever start an emo band I'm going to call it "Look on my despairs, ye mighty, and work!".

Nuno311 2008-12-21 05:23:07 PM
JP Freshlove and the Rhythm Midgets

mfaby 2008-12-21 05:25:33 PM
Pretty damned funny but then it is the AV Club meets Real Life.

I clicked on one of the funk bands; good stuff.

They were on the verge. But that night, they were Barry Jive and the Uptown 5.

hypers36 2008-12-21 05:33:34 PM
And my friend used to think that naming his band (if he had one) "poopinabag" would be hilarious/cool.

seabass242 2008-12-21 05:35:59 PM
John Cougar Concentration Camp

Wow...not a singe Wizard Rock entry?* Hard to believe...

*Unless, of course, I'm too drunk to have noticed any...which is a distinct possibility.

They had to change the name...they go by Speedealer now

REO Speedwagon (who got their name from a firetruck) sued them and made them change it.

Holy shiat.... That's what happens when you have two fark pages up at the same time...

If the mods care at all, you can remove that ridiculousness.

I thought "LOL WUT" was a fine band name. Better than "Strawberry Fox News Sundae".

KajakPro 2008-12-21 06:35:06 PM
Mr. Chainsaw: Andrew Jackson Jihad

Listening to them now. They're pretty good, as if the arrogant worms took a satire song and were more serious and talented.

My fave real band name:
Middle Modern Aural Circus,
or else
Mitchapalooza and the brown wave. the eponymous Mitch just stood there because he had no musical abilities.
