Merry f*cking Christmas and a happy motherf*cking New Year, beeotch!

Pegasus_CAG 2008-12-21 11:17:42 AM
I magine the protesters doing all this in the form of some 80's movie montage.

KidneyStone 2008-12-21 11:18:37 AM
The only amusing thing about this is that they called it a protest.

Buncha assholes if you ask me.

P.S. ALL YOUR KIOSK ARE BELONG TO US.

Not the shrubbery! Anything but the shrubbery! It's so hard to find good shrubbery these days.

Protesters overrun shopping mall, upend garbage cans...According to mall management, the protesters were part of a "Solidarity with Greek Uprising" demonstration.

In San Francisco? Inconceivable!

1. Put snakes on plane 2008-12-21 11:21:07 AM
The thought process that equates Greek solidarity with smashing up a kiosk is fascinating.

Disturb the shrubbery and you shall have to cut down the mightiest tree in the forest... with A HERRING!

rumpelstiltskin 2008-12-21 11:21:38 AM
They rioted in solidarity with the Greeks? WTF?
They couldn't think of any excuse a little closer to home?

Greeks and San Francisco. That's ten pounds of buttsecks in a one pound bag.

How many of them were wearing Che Guevara T-shirts?

I'll bet the cops track them down as they brag about their actions on their Facebook pages.

schattenteufel [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 11:23:31 AM
So smashing up some poor woman's crystal knick-knack kiosk is how you protest the death of a Greek kid?

I never knew.

DarthBrooks [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 11:26:04 AM
Something happened on the other side of the world not involving shopping centers.

Therefore, I must attack your Piercing Pagoda.

Philo_T_Farnsworth 2008-12-21 11:31:05 AM
Here I was, reading the article, waiting for the punchline. I assumed it was some sort of anti-consumerist group, you know, some sort of "Project Mayhem" type of thing. Or maybe even a religious protest of some kind. I mean, I wasn't totally sure, but I was certain that it would be something like that.

And then this happened... "According to mall management, the protesters were part of a "Solidarity with Greek Uprising" demonstration. An international day of action was called on Saturday to protest the death of a young man in Greece in early December."

Where is the "WTF" tag when you need it?

control-z 2008-12-21 11:31:28 AM
I first thought it was a gay rights thing. Either way, tearing up private property and terrorizing shoppers isn't exactly the best way to gain sympathy for your "cause."

skinink 2008-12-21 11:33:01 AM
And it was led by some guy who couldn't see the image in a Magic Eye picture.

wildsnowllama 2008-12-21 11:33:21 AM
In order to calm the crowds they should be instructed to find their shopping center...

DigitalCoffee 2008-12-21 11:34:45 AM
Why pick on the food court or the crystal stand when there are plenty of assholes in the cell phone kiosks. If there's anyone at the mall that deserves a beatdown, it's them.

/pushy, rude, and obnoxious is no way to go through life
//applies to the demonstrators too

That would mean that the cops would have to read and we all know that ain't happening. So solly, Cholly.

I'd include the hair and nail guys, too.

This was a big reason I left SF. The Black-Masked Asshole Brigade starts getting a little bored, so they reach for an excuse to tear shiat up.

Of course it's a protest for Greek solidarity.

They just can't bear to leave their brothers behind.

Clearly, a more systematic and precise anarchy would have been preferable.

I absolutely agree. I farking hate walking past those arseholes. "Hey, hey...I need to ask you a question" How about you get farked buddy, go make your farkin commission off some other sucker.

Anyway, on the article, can't these idiots protesters just kill themselves in public to get attention for their cause? It would be a win/win...

Agreed. The anarchists around here seem to think vandalizing ATMs and dropping GREEK SOLIDARITY banners counts as anarchism. It's kind of cute.

Weirdly enough, that one protest was enough to end capitalism forever.

SwallowTheKnife 2008-12-21 11:53:46 AM
Prior to the events in Greece, I didn't know much about the place, except they made a musical/movie about it.

Now I just think that the Greek youth are irrational retards who like to break shiat and be assholes. I say the English and Scottish protest and riot the Greek community, and show them how it's done.

cryinoutloud [TotalFark] 2008-12-21 11:54:00 AM
If you just want to be an a-hole and destroy things, why do you need an excuse?

If they were really hardcore, they'd just do it for the LOLZ.

Last Xmas, my 83 year old mom got accosted by some pushy Israeli salesperson at a nail care kiosk in the newest mall in West Des Moines. He was running on about some amazing nail care shiat derived from the silt of the Dead Sea, buffing one of my nails and going on and on. Mom and I just stood there, amused by the whole show.

Then we told the guy that we were the widow and son, respectively, of one of the best salesmen ever and had learned all the tricks. IOW, our sales resistance is very high. I told the guy he was very good, but, bye. He gave it the old school try again, but lost.

I know it's mean, but we just love to watch them dance and then we walk away.
