Re: reggae version of "Start Me Up."
I'm trying to imagine what that would sound like.

Ja man

It actually makes a lot of sense!!

That's a damn fine mix tape right there.

Ahhhh, Keef, it's amazing you remember that stuff.

Best Stones album?

Disc Two of HOT ROCKS.

I'm thinking it's a little closer to Keef and his X-pensive Winos

Gimmie Shelter.....One of the best opening riffs of any song ever.

"So we left the track and went back out on the road. And two weeks later I hear it on the radio. I said, "No, that was just a demo!" They said, "No, it's a hit." At least Otis got it right. Our version was a demo for Otis."

That's a great story.

I love this farkin' guy. Saw the Stones about two years ago and they just killed. Hope they tour another 100 years.

Agreed, carmody. I don't know what show people saw when they rag on the Stones for having lost "it", but there's no way it was the same show I saw. Because those guys farking rock.

You wanna know something?

I live Keith's solo records more than most of the last 15 years worth of Stones' albums.

Yeah, his voice is worse than Dylan's but that's part of the
charm but when you hear the way he does his version of Mo-town
(Hate it when you go) it's worth it.

That was a very interesting article. I wish it was longer. The Stones have always been good in the studio with their little experiments and odd instruments. Good catch, subby. I like how they used a picture of Keith relaxing after the Stones played for Chester A. Arthur's inaugural ball.

Wait...No biatch? No Get Off My Cloud? No Brown Sugar? No Honky Tonk Women? If I didn't know better, I'd swear Keith Richards was on drugs when he did that interview.

Oh, it's his favo(u)rite riffs, not mine. Got it.

Saw the Stones in the 80's at the Los Angeles Coliseum with Guns n' Roses opening, they were boring as hell to me; I've never liked them live, they always rush through the songs. Love the records from Beggars Banquet > Exile On Main St. though.

Monkey Man??

Can't You Hear Me Knocking always drove me nuts until I realized Keith is in open G and Mick Taylor is standard. The beginning is impossible to play in standard, and the very end is impossible to play in open.

Valdes 2008-12-21 08:18:24 PM
There is no Brown Sugar listed because Mick Jagger wrote that riff... by himself.... while Keith was strung out someplace else.

Yes, Mick Jagger can actually play guitar.

No Little T&A? I farking love that song.

Henry Holland: Wait...No Biatch?

One of all-time favorites, but he stole that beautiful riff from the Temptations.
