I came here to say this... must be a generational thing.

/Older folks must use sledgehammers... since they don't play starcraft?

Lower tariffs on S. Korean cars. Because we need cheaper Hyundais.

There are a lot of channels that I would gladly give up in exchange for Korean C-Span.

I'd gladly give up both Lifetime channels for a double feed from S. Korean parliament

I'd certainly like to see my legislators hit with sledge hammers (All three voted for the bailout).

Here in DC I have three C-Span channels which I gladly covet. I'd easily be willing to give up one of our C-Spans, Lifetime, Oxygen and one channel chosen at random to get ONE feed of the South Korean parliament.

There is probably more virulent anti-Americanism in South Korea than in any other democratic country in the world. It's certainly more prominently on display there than in other places. I would hazard a guess that the ruling party locked out the opposition precisely because they knew sledgehammers would be forthcoming. Not that this is a good way to run a government; I'm just saying.

Super Chronic: There is probably more virulent anti-Americanism in South Korea than in any other democratic country in the world.

Despite that South Korea traditionally has a very pro-American political party for almost 50 years on and off?

I'm an American who used to work in South Korea for 2 years. Hell, sad thing to say but most of the anti-American problems there are directly from America.

It's just that our government haven't shown a very good impression to our very important ally, South Korea. And we still have a chance to improve our country's image to that country no matter what. Don't lose faith please.

Maybe they have more virulent anti-Americanism in South Korea because they are actually free to do so, thanks to America.

This would be even better with online betting. I'd like to put $100 on Long Dong Suk for a knockout in the 3rd round.

Having been a soldier stationed at Camp Casey in South Korea, I can pretty much say that most of the South Koreans that are anti-american are full of shiat. Really.

IIRC, hand-to-hand legislation is not new to the South Korean Parliament.

I'm picturing Korean parliament surrounded by hordes of Indonesian men in sunglasses waving paper money and shouting encouragement.

Um, am I the only one that read past the amusing part and noticed this is a situation where fisticuffs would actually be a tame response?

Security staff and aides from the ruling party stood guard outside the room to keep opposition lawmakers away

If the Democratic-controlled US senate put armed guards outside the Capitol Building to prevent Republicans from voting on a bill, we'd likely proceed directly to the "gotta bust a cap all up in here" phase.
