Only ten??

Stay classy, 'Groes.

No Soulja Boy?

My worst memory of modern rap. I was in a club with a girl. It was in Wilmington, NC. Pretty sure everyone on the dance floor was white, frat boy material - popped collars and pink shirts.

When Soulja Boy came on, they all started the dance. We left immediately.

At the time I was working with gang kids and was utterly dumbfounded at how out of touch these crazy college white folk were.

/I is white folk too, though...so who knows.
//Yea, so I looked up it, apparently it came out in 2007. Oh well.

By "ten worst" do you really mean "all rap is shiat?"

I know there have to be more than 10.

This.

TheSup3rN0va: This.

Yes and being in a gang shows that you are very in touch.

Solja Boy is shiat though. I think that goes without saying.

wpmulligan 2008-12-18 10:12:41 AM
Are those the ten worst songs or the ten worst album covers? Because that list works both ways.

Tenebreux 2008-12-18 10:13:36 AM
No "Can I smell yo' dick"?

kliq 2008-12-18 10:14:41 AM
I'm starting a conspiracy theory that all mainstream rappers have been kidnapped and replaced by robots because everytime I turn on the radio it sounds like androids are singing.

emocomputerjock 2008-12-18 10:20:47 AM
No Mrs. Officer? Fail. That track is the worst piece of shiat ever put out by anyone, ever.

Glitchwerks 2008-12-18 10:28:26 AM
This just in, mainstream music of any genre has a lot of horrible tunes! Farkers insist rap isn't music, and that these kids should get off their lawn! We go now live to our reporter Ric Romero, who's on the scene with more details!

Yeah dont act like black people arent out of touch as well, most black families dont even have a problem with their kids being in a gang or dealing drugs rationalizing it by "he bringing me money!"

At least white people think doing good in school is a good thing.

/still think there are a lot more than 10 shiatty rap songs
//rap has sucked since the early 90s

I don't think the drunk thing is going to work. I think you have a good claim for mental retardation. I would go with that if I were you, because you obviously are.

LOLLOLLOLLOL!

Rap isn't real music! Only Rush is! Those wacky black people!

Watch me make a joke that gets me as close to saying n***** as possible! Or, even better, I'll just let it get replaced by the filter! That's exactly the same as saying it, so I'm awesome!

But don't call me racist! cuz...you know, I just hate the popular music and forms of expression associated with black people! If they'd pull up their pants, buy some rush albums and talk like I do, the world would be ok!

If that works for covering up your obvious ignorance of the real world then by all means, consider the real world retarded.

I think your knowledge of the world comes from reading the back of the box of "Bill-O's," the breakfast cereal of choice for racist Freepers. Oodles of little white, frosted stereotypes in every spoonful.

madden101 2008-12-18 11:23:35 AM
Props to Rick Ross for use of the word "thus." Otherwise, rap sucks.

Way to not fit the exact parameters of those out-of-touch white people he was talking about.

Zombie Hitler 2008-12-18 11:37:52 AM
Were the lyrics bad, or was the article author upset that these guys haven't actually committed all the crimes that they claim to have committed?

This "street cred" bullshiat is exactly what killed hip hop.

Glitchwerks: I think your knowledge of the world comes from reading the back of the box of "Bill-O's," the breakfast cereal of choice for racist Freepers. Oodles of little white, frosted stereotypes in every spoonful.

For that last time since none of you seem to pay attention, I hate bill oreilly, I only know of freeper from fark, think it refers to free republic, a site I have never went to or joined. I dont consider myself racist, I hate every person who wants to blame someone else for their position in life, from blacks blaming the system for keeping them down or rednecks blaming blacks, hispanics, asians, or anyone else they can name for their lot in life. Usually you earn your place in the world.

I have lived a varied life, making a ton of money in the 90s till that company went bankrupt and now returned close to what I was once making, in doing so I have had the honor to see plenty of lifestyles/cultures. There are good in many races but only whites and asians look down on thug or gang lifestyles and see achievement in education as a positive.

That being said, no, not every single person fits a stereotype but they are there for a reason. Some of the most selfless people I have ever met were not white and I fully believe that they had to fight through more bullshiat than some rich white person did when helping the less fortunate.

Its reality, its not pretty.

steamingpile 2008-12-18 11:46:26 AM
GWShenlong05: Way to not fit the exact parameters of those out-of-touch white people he was talking about.

I wouldnt call me out of touch with any particular race, its more being out of touch with young people. It happened a few years ago, it was a smooth transition and it started with wondering who these whining assholes were on the radio then retreating back to my mp3 player.

That being said, I dont think I would have ever liked that superman song, it was horrible.

Like I said earlier, you should go for the mentally retarded escape clause here. You're posting some of the most awful, stupid shiat I have ever seen on Fark. Go back to watching old reruns of Jerry Springer and using that as a basis for your diatribe of racial stereotypes and misunderstandings.

Rap still sucks.

Someone should compile a list of the top 10,000 rap songs that 'feature' some other rapper.

Jamrock 2008-12-18 12:15:34 PM
I do think many of the people posting here are incredibly out of touch. That said, I listen to rap by far more than any music and I hate almost every song of 2008 or that plays on the radio. It's trash, it's garbage, it's not music. Nobody releases good music anymore, although there are people that used to, that still try.

I'll give you a little hint: rap has been mainstream for a decade. There is no 'street cred'. 2008 is the point, to me, where rap is virtually all a studio-manufactured product. It's way more mainstream than whatever various things you white people listen to (try to keep it that way).

I'm 21, and I already am feeling old. I can't relate to "young peoples' music" already. Rap was good, hip hop was a great form of music, but that doesn't exist any more. It reached its peak a decade ago. "Cool" and "edgy" music is something else, and I'm not sure exactly what, but surely rap is not considered that these days. I'm tellin you, this is teeny bopper music..

Ooooh, is this the tread where white people decide what is and isn't music, then tell the young folks to get off their lawns? Will somebody show their mad rhymin' skills by saying "rap is crap?"

There is a lot of bad rap out there, just like there is a lot of bad rock (Nickleback) and any other musical genre. It wasn't that long ago that people said rock wasn't real music.

Its hard to stay in touch with rap because they are changing "super-stars" every 15 mins. I know that some other parts of the music industry also have the same problem, but hell they at least last a year or so before fading into obscurity.

Hell, I never watched a rap awards show before (and prob never will) but the damn "New Artist of the Year" list must be a mile long.

The best part is that people only hear a few seconds of those hit songs at a time from A) ringtones, B) MySpace profiles, C) iTunes previews, etc.

Rock still isn't real music. And before you start covering up your obvious ignorance of the real world - some of the most selfless people I have ever met were communists trying to crumble the morals of America with this rottin', filthy, dirty, lude, lascivious junk called rock and roll. It isn't just the lyrics, it's THE BEAT! How this beat gets them, 400 teenage girls were interviewed as to why they had illegitimate babies.. they said not just the words, THE BEAT! The fertility ranks of the jungle to have the same beat, incorporated in this modern rock to screw 'em up. Say yeah, whoo
Also: instrument amplifier and guitar effects such as reverb or distortion are the worstest things ever
/rock is crock

The author seems unable to grasp that rappers might not always be rapping about their own lives.

"3 Peat" is a good song, and "Love in This Club" has nice production.

Lil Wayne is to rap what Kenny Chesney is to country. It's just manufactured crap presented to the Wal-Mart masses. Musical genres are like pudding. You have the sh*tty crust on top. Pull that away and the real stuff is underneath. Yeah, Lil Wayne is a joke, but De La Soul sure as f*ck isn't. Just like Kenny Chesney is crap, but Del McCoury sure as hell ain't.

I pity you, steamingpile, you're a small miserable man boy who can't see beyond your TV.
