"Dracula's Lament" from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" from Hamlet 2 both made it, haha.

Dracula's Lament was the perfect blend of taking itself seriously and not taking itself seriously. And Jason Segel is a surprisingly good singer. (new window)

Oh, I know. If Jason Segel ends up with an Oscar nomination and chance to perform the song live at the ceremony, it'd be awesome.

/still think Springsteen's "The Wrestler" will win this one

It's odd, but this is the one category that has gotten consistently weaker since it was introduced in the 30s. I miss Cole Porter.

"Down to Earth" from WALL-E. I hope it at least gets the nomination...

I love Peter Gabriel. I loved WALL-E. But that was a sh*tty song.

Man, with 49 songs, I would think I couldn't possibly say 'notably absent'

... but notably absent:
Link (new window)

Wings doesn't sing that song. Nobody sings that song.

Please no. We don't need people further perpetuating the myth that cringe-funny can be a substitute for real-funny. While the song was pure brilliance, the whole idea that films can be humorous simply by putting actors in embarrassing situations should be jettisoned yesterday.

Clint actually sings on "Gran Torino", so that's in,
and "Rock Me Sexy Jesus" should get a nom just to piss some fundies off.

"Melodramatic String-Laden Song" from "Trophybait Angstfest" will win.

Wow. If someone told me ten years ago that a song sung by Clint Eastwood had a chance of winning an Oscar I would've told him to talk to the trees...

Bullshiat, what about LCD Soundsystem's "Big Ideas" from the 21 soundtrack?

/James Murphy at the Oscars would be a trip

There were original songs written in 08? I thought it was all just covers now.
