What this country needs is to have everybody stop giving a fark what anybody says. You can have your views, and I can have mine. Nobody has a right to tell me what to think. If I want to be ignorant, let me be ignorant, at least to the point where it negativly effects those around me.

Freedom is a lot of responsibility. It's hard to think for one's self. The religious right and the nanny state left need to stay the fark out of my life. Personally, I think both sides are one step away from being treasonous. They both are interested in people conforming to their idea of morality or social policy. They are interested in making people (want to) abdicate responsibility to the government or the church to gain power over the 'common man.' That is contrary to the most basic tenets of this nation.

I don't advocate anarchy, but I do advocate returning most power to the individual states. Smaller government isn't just about reducing the size of the federal government, it's about redistributing the power back to the governmental agencies most capable of responding to the needs of the people. In this case, I would argue that state governments are the best way to do this.

Having an environment where a teenager can be openly gay does not perpetuate victim mentality, if anything, it helps destroy it.

Although I do have a bit of an issue with 14/15 year olds stigmatizing themselves by declaring their sexuality before it's really had a chance to develop. That doesn't help the cause either as conservatives can see any change beyond that as a "lifestyle choice".
