That's what Christmas is all about.

Sterling, Virginia??

Must have been Patton Oswalt.

Seriously, this is a great story. I love hearing things like this.

That is really cool. Good on them, and the kids that get the toys. Staying anonymous is super classy too.

Refreshing stuff.

I read...
For the third year in a row, someone has anonymously left hundreds of toys outside of a Vagina church.
...and I was keen to know what sort of toys. This is less interesting but still spiffy.

Hmmm.

You could steal a cargo container of Toys R Us merchandise, dump the contents at a charity, and be pretty much guaranteed that even if the connection was made the company wouldn't demand it back.

Yeah, at the same time, someone stole a bunch of my decorations last night. Arseholes.

Great Christmas spirit, but to be honest a cash donation is much better. Then the church can allocate that money optimally.

In other news, a truckload of toys was hijacked in Virginia, leaving 3 dead and 2 in hospital.

Christians take note. All charity should be anon, but then again less people would make the effort if nobody knew they were doing good stuff.

Where was I going with this?

Yep. This person probably gives out toothbrushes at Halloween.

What? No Christian bashing? It's a Fark story about a church and the typical prejudice against Christians is strangely absent.

Wow... Just occured to me... There are no atheist charities and relief organizations... There are non-religious/secular charities, but is are there specifically atheist charities? Hm.

itsfullofstars 2008-12-14 09:46:58 PM
Why not a Toys for Tots barrel? Why the front steps of a church? Call your local marine reserve center and tell them you have a donation and they'll help you unload it.

This is a cool story until it rains on all those toys.

Okay, how about this:

If the church and its members were actually doing what they claim to believe in, there'd be no need for this sort of act. The poor people in town would all be well taken care of on an ongoing basis.

Why haven't the good churchgoing Christians already done everything they possibly can to help others?

dreadlocksFTW 2008-12-14 09:48:50 PM
He sounds rich. Why is he only giving away these toys. I bet he could do more good than just this. I bet it's a guilty conscious, I bet he got a lot of money from lucky stock picking. We need the government to find these people and make sure they give as much as this guy does.

You mention nobody is making fun of Christians just so you can take a shot at atheists? Get a grip dude. Sometimes the persecution is all in your head.

It would be hilarious if the priest says "THANK YOU FOR THE TOYS" and then he keeps all of them in his room to play with.
