Oddly enough, this same exact thing happened to one of my wife's coworkers about 8 years ago. Yes, the victim then was a woman as well.

They almost need separate drive-through ATMs for taller vehicles (trucks, vans, SUVs) and for regular cars.

You shouldn't have to get out of the car to use a DRIVE-THROUGH ATM.
