I saw them in '71 in Atlanta. Cops were busting entire rows of folks for smokin pot.

good times

//their girlfriends lived across the street from us so we saw them all the time anyway

This is Asheville. Cops were harshin' on, like, whole bunches of people for not sharin' the love, man.

Is it really necessary to log the exact timestamp of every event in an article about a concert?

were you there?

I was.

In 1989, cops were busting entire rows of folks smoking tobacco at a Dead show.

Progress?

bad times - it freaked me out - or maybe it was the doses.

I don't know, maybe it was the doses
The doses, or the ribbons in her.....

Okay, I'll just call them the Oteil/Trucks band, but it doesn't quite have the same ring to it, ya' know?

You have my pity. Insomnia is a biatch and I don't care what anyone says when you have it, not even a band as boring as Phiash is going to put you to sleep.

No, Gonzo - must not mix Gov't with religion, not even for Gov't Santa Mule

holy shiat - Derek may need to start shaving soon.

Sounding good as always though...

And I take back that comment about calling ABB the Oteil/Trucks band - clearly it is Warren & Friends instead.

Duane & Dickey back in the day = best jam band ever.

The Allman Brothers Band are two of my favorite bands. The early stuff with Duane, Dickey and Berry is awesome. The current version of the band is almost equally awesome.

I bought a bootleg shirt last year at one of their shows. It had the official AB logo on it, but sneakily said "The Almost Brothers Band". I'm sure the "misprint" was just to avoid a lawsuit, but it was fitting nonetheless...I was underwhelmed by their show

FTFA: they hit the stage at 2:30 a.m.; so they played two hours.

Warren, Derek and Oteil didn't show up? I fail to see how you could be "underwhelmed" unless all 3 of them failed to appear.

And I really don't think the guys in the parking lot selling shirts are too worried about lawsuits. They're either too poor to lose anything in a lawsuit or they're Trustafarians and can afford a lawyer to say - 'yeah, we're complying with your cease-and-desist letter'

Most should already know by now:

61,856 concerts

All bands support taping and trading of their shows.
That culture REALLY needs to be supported and passed on to new bands as well.

Listen, attend, share. =D

But after Bathing at Baxter's

* Yes I know that was a different band, but back in the day there was so much cross-pollination that it could apply.

You - or others - may think there is a lot of cross-pollination going on today, but I just listened to a Neil Young show - his backup band? The Band - Mystery guest? Eric Clapton.

So you buy a Neil Young concert ticket - probably for $1.25 and you're probably biatching about how expensive it it, and you show up and The Band is backing him and Eric Clapton is a surprise guest?

I'd love to buy that $1.25 ticket from you for 100 times what you paid for it to see that lineup.

When has anything like that happened in the last 30 years?

Been there, done that back in the early 90's. When I woke up, I was like, " Awww man, I would've saved my dough and done this on the couch"

Buddy of mine was at this show last nite, he said it was awesome

I hate Fark cliches... but THIS!

The last time I saw ABB was in '95 or '96 in Seattle. Incredible show. But I lost interest in them after Warren and Woody left full time to start Gov't Mule.

And another thing... a 30-minute jam doesn't make it a good jam. After awhile, it just gets painfully boring, no matter how much pot you smoke.

/just my opinion
