Yeah, the Central Valley is gearing up for temperatures in the 20s Tuesday night (OH NOZE!!)

The orange farmers are already getting their gear ready. (fans, smudge pots, etc)

If we have an extended or really deep freeze it'll ruin this year's orange crop. No table oranges. The damaaged but sellable stuff will go into FCOJ.

And we might get snow on the Valley floor. Last time that happened was 1998!

If agriculture is a prevailing source of income, quite a few people tend to move their lips while trying to sign their name.

Uh, folks - the reason us SoCalifornicators are so nervous about the moderate rains coming is that our hillsides all just got through burning, and when they get rained on, they are going to seek horizontitude in a rapid and messy fashion.

If this happened here in the SE, three things that can be guaranteed to happen at your local Walmart:

1) There will be a huge run on bread
2) There will be a huge run on milk
3) There will be a huge run on space heaters

And then the local news will reports about all of the apartment fires caused by cheap, Chinese space space heaters.

I live in San Diego and I am in a t shirt, shorts and flip flops my GF is visiting her family in Rhode Island and is bundled up like the little brother in the Christmas Story. Even if it rains it still kicks the ass of living anywhere else. As long as you don't have to drive anywhere. people here can not drive in the rain.

I was in the Phoenix area over Thanksgiving. One day I was walking around through an outdoor mall and kept getting the feel that I was being blasted by a heater..

Sure enough in 65 degree weather their was Heater's outside blasting and people sitting under them at their tables.

Really? Heaters in 65 degrees?

People in San Diego do drive really badly in the rain. It's mind boggling for me, because I'm from the southeast, and it rains like clockwork over there. I'll never get the "Rain!! OMG!! Oh noes!!" mind frame over here about rain.

All you have to do is keep them away from things that will catch fire and turn them off when you aren't in the room.

I also know this advice is to difficult for some morans.

My brother-in-law, who, like my wife, is from Indiana, currently lives in Albuquereque (Or however the fark that's spelled.) and teaches at UNM. A couple years back, there was two inches of snow in...that place. UNM cancelled classes. Not even 4 hours later, all the snow had melted off.

You also should avoid plugging 5 of them on the same circuit. Especially if the wiring in your home is old.

Gah, Fark threw away the image, yet showed it in the preview. A bug which makes us both look dumb.

Summary of image: It's going to be 13F tonight and 60F on Monday. We just got two inches of rain in MA, we were lucky. NH, VT and ME got a nice thick layer of ice. 1.25 Million without power, and it's going to be days before it's all fixed.

Isn't it weird how when the weather is abnormal for a region, people find it curious? Like when it rains or gets chilly in San Diego? Or when it gets really hot in NYC? Yeah. Wow! People live in different parts of the world and are used to different kinds of weather! I never realized that before!
