Whatever, I'd love to see them together live. I bet they're awesome.

Is this the thread where we all pretend to be too cool to like Billy Joel and Elton John?

I'd see them.

Billy better be careful about his "dance with a hand in my pants" routine around Elton.

Still, two very cool rockers. I saw then on their last tour- Elton rocked, Billy was a little "under the weather" that night.

Brought the wife to Billy Joel last year and i must say it was well worth the money.

I've got 6th row tickets for the concert in March - I don't care who judges me!

I'm excited:)

Meh, she'd just find her way home again.

You're quite The Entertainer, submitter.

Saw them on a TV special several years back doing a concert in Central Park. Awesome!

You don't have to be "cool" to dislike nauseating music.

I'd see them.
If they only played the intro to Funeral for a Friend and then The Down-East Whatchamacallit, I think I could avoid the air-sickness bag.

Obligatory:

dammit.
i can't find that youtube video of Elton and Billy doing "my life" [in japan?], where Elton is dressed as Godzilla, and Billy cracks up whilst singing.

So, people who say they don't like Elton John and Billy Joel must be pretending?
You think these folks secretly do like them? That's moronic. If you like those has-beens, that's fine by me. Personally, if someone gave me a free ticket, and the show was a short walk from my house, I'd still demand money before I'd willingly see them perform. Three hours of Elton and Billy while surrounded by the sort of people who actually want to be there? *shudder* It'd take at least a hundred bucks to get me to sit through it.

but seriously....

"Tumbleweed Connection", "Honky Chateau", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Captain fantastic" are easily five of the very best pop/rock albums of the 1970's.

I saw Billy for the first time this past august. I am only 21 but have been a fan all my life so it was wonderful.

But I really don't like Elton John, he is talented but he just didn't work for me. Now if they are dueling pianos and stuff the whole time, I would pay a million to see it!

Sounds like it would be a great show.

saw them in '02 in San Antonio... I was surprised how awesome Billy Joel was... I was expecting Elton to be the better performer, but I was wrong.. Elton just sang at the piano, no craziness I have seen in old clips.
Billy was a freakin' wild man on stage. I really enjoyed him.

I would love to see them again

I saw Billy in Oakland, Ca in 1990. Great show. He did an Elvis impersonation with 1950's Elvis gyrations.

Saw Elton 3rd row at Caesar's in '03. Another great show.

I like when they trade their hit songs. Billy does a great cover of Yellow Brick.

You know, I can understand jabs at the tour by people who don't like Billy Joel or Elton John; that's fine. What I have no tolerance for are the people who want to insult me personally for liking the music, or anyone else for not liking it. (And I really don't get dholway's "has-beens" remark, considering that they sell out every show, no matter how many they book.)

These are practices that are only acceptable with Nickleback. That's right. Not Elton John, not Billy Joel, not Hannah farking Montana - Nickleback only.

/thanks for playing!

Love Billy Joel. Hate the fact he's retired from touring. Twice. Can I sue like the Streisand fans did?

Meh, I'd see it.
