(Huffington Post) Obvious Sean Hannity responds to The Daily Show's send off of Alan Colmes. Suprisingly he has a good sense of humor about the whole thing and takes it in stride....just kidding he's a complete jag about it   (huffingtonpost.com) divider line 144

He just won't return my calls though.

Heh, I'm gonna watch TDS tonight just to see Jon deconstruct El Douchebag's snark.

He's gonna leave him a quivering pile of goo. And it will be glorious.

Hannity reminds me of that guy in the movie Weird Science when she (Kelly LeBrock) turned him (Bill Paxton)into a big pile of living poo that emitted gas all the time. Or was that Rush Limbaugh?

Both, kind of a before and after thing. I think it was a warning.

Awesome. I, for one, love Sean Hannity. And Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly...etc. Sure, they are idiot asshats only interested in getting rich(er), but they are also destroying the GOP, as some Republicans follow them into the loony abyss, and others decide to become "independents" (many of whom vote Democrat).

So, keep it up, Hannity! Watch your fortune rise as the ideology/party you claim to support declines. I'm laughing right along with ya!

...The Daily Show ran for about a month without writers last year and was still funnier than that utterly terrible comedy show they tried on Fox News. No, not Hannity, the other one. No, not O'Reilly, the other other one.

So not only is Hannity a humourless turd, but he's also ignorant of the fact that Stewart is one of the "50 writers" who helps to come up with the material on his show.

Classic.

The Half Hour News Hour? I was just thinking about that show last night. There's a group of people out there that had to sit down together and agree that it was funny enough to air. And you know not one of them got most of it, they just assumed it was as beyond them as all humor clearly is and gave it a pass.

And that people like that were monitoring our economy for 8 years? How the hell have we managed so well as to ONLY be in the midst of a huge recession?

Sadly, I know which show you're talking about, which was the one where Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter tried to do "comedy". I forget its name.

On the note about the writer's strike: that series they did with that feud between Stewart, Colbert, and O'Brien was hilarious.

For Hannity to criticize Stewart is just stupid. Hannity is on a TV news network that purports to be "fair and balanced". Stewart is on the COMMEDY channel. You know, as in humor. He makes no claim to being fair, balanced, or news worthy. You can't hold a comedian to the same standards as a news anchor. If you don't think he's funny, change the channel.

Omnivorous 2008-12-12 11:32:48 PM
Jon Stewart at his worst is better than Sean Hannity after he dies and becomes an angel. Which we can only pray happens soon.

Unfortunately, too many people get their only news from the Daily Show. Stewart gets to have his cake and eat it too.

ChrisPC:
The daily show can be insightful, that's for sure. There's important things to think about on that show. But, when it comes down to it, Stewart is comedian. No more, no less. Social and political commentary in the form of comedy is a time honor tradition of staying off the radar of those who have specific agendas against your ideas, whether they be the establish government or more aggressive politicians. I respect it as a really important way of getting a point across in our society, but it is in not anything resembling news coverage.

If people treat Stewart as a news reporter, they have problems.

Perception and preference makes things funny. You would probably prefer that hanity not be funny...because if he was, that would make him human and ruin your perception that he is somehow the devil.

Maybe you should take your own advice. When Fox News started, I considered Hannity the most sane and rational of the entire crop. Over the years, though, he's gone further and further off the deep end. Now he's nothing but a shrill like all of the rest of the talk radio crowd.
