GODDAMNIT YOU PIECE OF shiat SHUT THE FARK UP!!!!!!

You know what? I love the Sox. Have loved them for my who live. Will start fisticuffs with people denigrating Nomar's name. Sleep in an old Mo Vaughn shirt. Have hated Dan Shauggnessy since before it was cool. Have a Sons of Sam Horn login.

But Curt Motherfarkig Schilling is very VERY hard to root for. Thanks for the bloody sock, and the greatest comeback in baseball history, but I pay you to throw a farking ball, not lecture me in subjects you know NOTHING about. Shut your whore mouth unless I ask you a question about baseball.

PEDRO MARTINEZ WAS A BETTER PITCHER THAN YOU IN 2004, YOU WHINY LITTLE ATTENTION WHORE!

Yes, Curt, we now you have a perfect Gamerscore for Call of Duty 4.

What's troubling about that article is that he writes in a way that suggests that people are really hanging on his every word regarding what he thinks about Iraq. Shut the fark up, Schilling, you arrogant tard.

You mean we actually have terms of victory now?

Cool.

I couldn't care less what he thinks, but I'll give Schil a pass.

I'd rather listen to an athlete give an invalid opinion on foreign affairs as opposed to "We need to focus, and stick the basics..." for the 4,984,222nd time.

kiershar 2008-12-10 06:50:54 PM
Haven't read the article yet, but there IS a huge drop in war footage on Liveleak. IMO, that is a good indicator that things are calming down.

Soup4Bonnie 2008-12-10 06:51:09 PM
Yay! We're winning the preemptive invasion to stop WMDs that were never there from falling into the hands of AQ who was never there until we invaded!

That is so farking awesome!

I'm not sure what's worse; Curt Schilling's assessment or basing one on LiveLeak.

Since they don't show pr0n on YouTube, does that mean there is none?

By what standards this time? By Bush's standards, we've been winning all along, haven't we?

Well now that we've got that cleared up I suggest we move on to the issue of Obama's nationality.

That's my opinion. I'm not asking anything; you can keep your worthless approval.

I am just saying that I see a strong undocumented correlation between violence and unrest and more war footage.

You know what? When we got to our Area of Operations, it was one of the worst parts of Iraq. After 14 months of slugging it out with insurgents, it's now one of the safest. Our mission exceeded all possible expectations.

But you know what? This is what it cost us.

What the fark did we win?

I've always liked this image.

Revisiting the list:

Reasons that failed:
* WMD
* Further War on Terror (Iraq didn't really actively fund terror groups like Hezbollah and Hamas)
* Iraq's links to Al Qaeda
* Iraq was an imminent threat
* To disarm Iraq
* To support the UN

Reasons that are iffy:
* Iraq's UN violations.
* Because of lack of weapons inspectors in Iraq.
* Hussein was a threat to the region (he started wars in the past, but he couldn't start any wars under sanctions)
* For the safety of the world (sort of like the above)

Reasons that succeeded:
* Regime Change
* Saddams evil dictatorship and actions
* Liberate Iraq
* To conclude Gulf War

/Made my best guess on the "iffy" placements.

I'm a Yankees fan. As such, I'm obligated to hate any and all things Red Sox-related. However, I never truly detested a player on the Red Sox until Curt came along. I don't think I've ever heard him say anything that hasn't been douchebaggy.

That doesn't really relate to him being a pussy though. It's like when you call a girl fat and her friends say "oh but she's really nice". That may be true, but it's immaterial to the discussion at hand.

ZipSplat 2008-12-10 08:28:30 PM
Whether we are "winning" is really subjective to what you call victory. If your victory is a semi-stable civilian government in Iraq, we've already won. If your victory is an Iraq that resembles a stable Arab nation like Kuwait, then I think we're going to be waiting a while.

Ultimately I see them as inconsequential to the fact that there really isn't an option to staying until the job is done. Even the troop withdrawal in 2010 only calls for the withdrawal of combat forces. We still maintain control of major bases outside of city limits and the entire Green Zone.

However, if you feel the need to point fingers regardless of whether said pointing will accomplish anything, the current administration definitely fits the bill.

FTA: "A football game with 2 minutes left, right now we have a 3 pt lead, the next year or two will be spent increasing that to 20 or more points. Would you rather play the last two minutes with a 3 pt or 21 pt lead?"

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the appropriate action to take would be to work the clock and wind down the game in a very unexciting fashion. Trying to run up the score could lead to a turnover which could give the other team a victory. Conversely, if we do run up the score, people the world over will hate us for it.

You would think some of you high and mighty liberals might take one minute to say "we are winning the battles? good, that means our guys are safe", instead of mocking the fact that winning = safety for those guys.

No way, they wanted the USA to lose, and now are hoppin mad at the Military for a

you start keeping more and more of our guys alive. Try dropping the "I hate this war!" outrage for awhile and give being glad about the soldiers being safer and safer.

Same deal with the mighty NDP'ers in Canada that get some sick pleasure in seeing our troops die just to say, I support the troops but I told your soooooo.

As for Iraq, it is showing tremendous signs of success, and it should, because like Egypt and Iran, Iraq has massive amounts of nationalist sentiment and aggrandized history to ward of radical islam. I remember reading about this kid Latif Ahmed who was beaten and almost killed my radical shiites for playing music, and yet last month his band "Dog Faced Corpse (this isnt a joke)" got to play some metal for about 300 people at a hall in Baghdad. The more you hear about civil society and metal the better the country will get. Optimism is better than fatalism, no WMDs who cares now

sadly, this is exactly true. The fact that more and more soldiers aren't coming home in bags robs them of a chance to shake their fists in "outrage" and crow about how right they were.

sadly, they are also unhappy that Bush had a strategy they can't debunk. Take out the home bases, like Reagan did with a bomb on Kadafi, and you turn them off real fast.

Iraq was another home base taken out, Bush you slacker you still have 2 left.

First off, I'm not a liberal. Hey, whatever context your simple mind wants to put me in, fine. I opposed the war from the start. You know something else, I don't support the troops. Being forced ideologically to support your military base is the foundation for totalitarian or dictator rule.

You have to pull your head out of your ass, like the rest of the sheep and realize one thing. The military, is just a job. There is nothing noble about it. It's no different from being a teacher, to a window washer, to being the illegal at Taco Bell who makes my Nachos Grande. The only exception is, the illegal Mexican is more efficient at making food than our troops were at fighting this war. But hey, if you want to celebrate that, inefficiency in warmongering, then go right ahead.

But hey, the military protects us. No, two oceans and technology protects us. The military is nothing more than a symbol. A nice mental safeguard to make you feel safe as you work your job, probably better than the military fights this war, and as you shop on the weekends at your local Walmarts. You don't really think pink ribbons cure breast cancer do you?
