Look, you manufactured pop princess (Model #43-688DD), just show your yaboos in a Playboy spread and then STFU. You're annoying enough taking up precious radio airwaves that could be used for political advertising.

Katy Perry may be skinnier now, but she had better lay off the cake.

Is she the latest Britney clone/knock-off to hit the scene?

isn't her time up yet??/

Why is she still around?

Thank god I have XM and taste and don't have to listen to that dribble.

/unfortunately, my wife likes it so I'm familiar with her "work".

If Katy Perry had Lily Allen's talent - THAT would be fantastic.

As it stands, I'd take Lily Allen and her cankles over Katy Perry any day...in terms of music.

I'd tap Katy Perry like a woodpecker to a tree.

asminat 2008-12-10 03:47:47 PM
yea. i'll go with the zooey deschanel look comparison, but imho zooey has a far better voice, great phrasing. she's actually a very good singer who i'd like to hear cover some of the jazz standards. she makes my pants very very happy.

Katy Perry is the stripper-version of Zooey Deschanel.

Jack Palance is the decayed version of Katy Perry.

Not that impressed by Lily Allen; not used to hearing a Brit accent while someone sings.

She definitely has that old English Dance Hall thing going, thought.

No because there really is no precedence of English/British accents in popular music is there? Thankfully every band or solo act since The Beatles that has been successful over here has managed to have a very convincing New Jersey accent, or in the case of Tom Jones a Louisiana one.

/palm hitting face noises.

Meant precedent, but anyway... was giggitying somewhat at Tom Jones concept and whatnot.

/don't sue me.

stpickrell 2008-12-10 05:07:37 PM
My 21 month old daughter likes Tom Jones.

Katy Perry is one of the few artists generated in the past 10 years that I like.

I'm not sure how either one happened.

You say that like it's a bad thing. You can violate Katy's various orifices, then discuss string theory with Zooey. It's perfect.

I'm too lazy to find it, but there's clip on Youtube of Zooey's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's show and she didn't look terribly happy to be there. She just deflected his silly attempts at humor.

Point is, I think she would be more interested in discussing string theory than anything else.

for good or for awesome: Keep making fun of people with more talent than you.

More talent? Really? She's a failed gospel singer now pandering sexuality through faux-lesbianism in an over-produced pop song built around a lame hook and sung in a barely above average voice. If she didn't have tits and a cute face she'd still be the main attraction of karaoke night at a Bennigans in Omaha. Get a clue you idiot.

I believe for good or for awesome was directing his comment at Katy Perry as in, she has no talent and is making fun of someone with talent, Lilly Allen.

Also, I saw a pic of a nude girl self-shot in the mirror and I swear to almighty Atheismo that it was Katy Perry. If not her, a dead ringer of monumental proportions. I'm pissed I didn't save it now...

Great gazungas, goofy looking face, terrible music. Society will have all but forgotten her in three years or less.

Oh. As Emily Litella would say, nevermind. My bad.

Is this where I make protestations of Katy Perry's talent in the delusion that she might let me have a sniff, much in the same way that 50-60 year old guys defend Sarah Palin?

Most of the time I can't tell a singer's accent (outside of country). It does seem to be a bit more noticeable with Lily.

FTFA: She tells UsMagazine.com, "Yeah, I made a joke about (that) earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."

Neither are musicians, apparently.
