Then someone would say it is all the jews fault. in fact it would be a Jewish conspiracy to gain sympathy.

I'm not so sure about that. even with this resource at our disposal, people STILL delude themselves into thinking Hillary and Bill Clinton can be trusted.

So is Chariset, no offense. There's genocide going on even as we type. Is the Intertube stopping it?

The capacity for human cruelty may be limitless, but so is the capacity of humans to ignore the suffering of others.

Perhaps someone might explain to me why the political analysis someone who won a Nobel prize in literature is any better than the political analysis of the random guy in the street. If this person were commenting on writing, then I would pay attention. If this person opines on nuclear physics, economics, marbles, or politics - I don't.

Actually, this is all we needed to stop Hitler:

Link (new window)

Also, I remember Stephen King saying that a few minutes on Meet the Press would have cooked Hitler's goose.

Hitler was a master of the radio technology.

ultraholland 2008-12-07 06:24:52 PM
Yeah, well Dr. Jones could have stopped Hitler too. But what's he do? He stands there while Hitler autographs the diary. So sir, I don't think the internet would do a thing.

Oldiron_79 2008-12-07 06:26:32 PM
Goebels did a good jorb of countering anyone who had radio objections, who is to say he couldn't have done a good jorb with talking points for forum trolls?

Exactly. If anything, Fark probably made a couple Hitlers, not prevented them.

Yeah, but think. If Hitler had sat on his ass all day posting right-wing propaganda on Fark, he probably wouldn't have had the time or motivation to actually go do something about it.

He'd just be busy Concern Trolling FDR or something.

If Hitler had been able to post his mediocre paintings on deviantart, he might have got just enough fans saying "omg i liek your shading on this one" that he would have stuck with art and avoided politics.

Partially, yes. Myanmar, for instance. Instead of 2 column inches on page 4, the recent stupidity was plastered all over the 'tubes. It might have been much, much worse.

Just think, if von Stauffenberg had put the 2nd charge he didn't have time to put the detonator in, into the bag Hitler would have been dead.

If he only had the single charge but someone didn't move the bag, Hitler would have been dead.

If they had had the meeting in the concrete bunker instead of the wooden building, Hitler would have been dead.

I guess FSM wanted Hitler to live.
