Did they give a reason other than "We don't wanna"?

And I thought matters like that were part of the public record anyway?

Yeah, wanting to see if a public official misused her power for personal reasons is "Palin Derangement Syndrome."

No wonder Republicans got their ass handed to them about a month ago.

Sarah Palin 2006 ~ "open the door wide to transparent and accountable government."

Sarah Pailin 2009 ~ The e-mails are not public because of reasons including "executive privilege," the governor's office said.

"This matter is closed. We see no public purpose in artificially prolonging this controversy."

The beauty of an intellect impaired following is the ability to say whatever is useful at a given moment without the risk of that following catching on to the pattern even with egregious examples.

This is bad news...for Palin. What are they hiding? Why do they hate open and transparent government?

You're talking about people who want Palin to run in 2012, yes? Don't worry, I am sure there are plenty of winks still in store for them, and such as.

The 'government is bad' folks seem to love it when their government hides things from them.

I just don't get it...

Of course, if and when she runs for another national public office, we won't be able to bring this up, will we?

That, after watching the absurd invective hurled at Obama because of a bunch of juvenile conspiracy theories (nearly all of which had less evidence than the "Bristol is Trig's mama!" idiocy), the Right would accuse anyone on the Left of _____ Derangement Syndrome is the funniest farking thing I've read all morning.

She and her supporters are making every sign that she intends to remain in our national political arena.

Therefor, this is not old news or irrelevant or "behind her".

She broke the law. And when the investigative report came out and said "Sarah Palin broke the law", she looked us right in the eye and asserted, "See? I told you I didn't break the law."

Unfortunately she is no Jedi master.

Me too. The undecided voter is a colossal idiot. The only reason they voted for Obama is that they were seriously hurting in the wallet. They are very easily distracted by shiny objects like Palin.

I suggested that maybe Christ wouldn't have approved of waterboarding suspected terrorists and got a life time bannination from freerepublic. I think the retards are gonna take over the Republican party.

Brubold 2008-12-07 01:30:59 PM
It remains funny to me to see the hypocrisy of the political left on this matter. When they normally jump with glee at the chance to attack the police if they even give a funny look to some hippie protester or a member of a minority, they are completely willing to back this officer who was found guilty of drinking on the job, firing a taser at his step-son and shooting a moose without a license.

Clearly this officer needs to remain on the job while all those others are corrupt minority-bashing members of Bush's SS goon squad.

The article disagrees with you.

Palin cooperated with only one of two investigations into the circumstances of Monegan's dismissal, the one by the state Personnel Board, which she said was the proper venue for an ethics investigation and which cleared her

And that's what flat-out floors me, every time I'm reminded of it.

"She was in the wrong."

"I was completely cleared!"

The clash...it hurts. That single dichotomy alone, the utterly brazen ballsiness and lack of character or responsibility or sense of truth or honor...that is why she must never, ever be allowed south of Ketchikan again.

That simple, disgusting lie is all the reason we need to keep her the hell away from us.

4 different logins. And some were temp bans. the one that got me the lifetime bannination on my 'main' account was the comment about waterboarding. apparently it's a sensitive subject over there.

I suppose I could always go spoof another IP address and get back in, but there's little point. Freeperville has always been loonytoons of course, but they've gone full retard since Obama won the election.

Slightly more scary is what i've seen posted on stormfront.org. some of those discussion threads had me looking out my window for FBI investigators just for reading the comments.

Wow she's some reformer, huh?

First she "looked forward" to the investigation and agreed to cooperate, but then she reformed that...then she said she would make her staff open to depositions, then she reformed that...then she didn't like the investigation that she agreed to cooperate with (before she reformed), so she reformed it by having a panel of her appointees be the deciders...a few reforms later and she brings it all to a close by reforming her promise to make the records public.

Seriously, WTF do people see in this nincompoop?

How do you propose a minority of reasonable people go about taking a party back from a majority who shout down any dissent as akin to treason?

I say they should forget about trying to take back their party, and should form a new and more reasonable coalition founded in reasonable economic policy (ie right-of-center, yet moderate) and limited government intervention in ALL spheres of public life. They could probably win more than a few seats on that platform, and then the christian/wingnut coalition that has become the Republican party can die off, choking on the air of its own hypocrisy.

That won't happen, of course...but I can dream.

And from what I've read and what I heard THAT'S IT. To the handful of people in the McCain belt and hardcore Christian Conservatives that's all you need to be the leader of the free world.

SCARY

KKK recruitment is way up since the election too. Probably a significant overlap in the memberships.

ghare: KKK recruitment is way up since the election too. Probably a significant overlap in the memberships.

I had heard a rumor about that, but I was hoping it was just the usual internet chatter. I really hope that Obama's election didn't result in a recruiting success for the KKK and other hate groups. I'd like to think that those nutballs are just lying about their 'successful recruiting efforts'.

It's called Executive Privilege people!

How is she supposed to be able to have serious discussion with her inner circle if she has to worry about those deliberations becoming media fodder?

What if Putin rears his head and comes flying at us people? He will know exactly where to fly if this is made public - this is no different than Geraldo drawing maps for the use of jihadists in the Iraq and such. Are you people insane? How can she do her job if she can't keep a secret?

Who will protect us from Putin if you tards eventually succeed at stripping Sarah naked on your liberal media stage?

I've also been reading about a lot of 'rugged wall street venture capitalists' screaming and begging for government handouts lately. if you start taking any of this crap personally, you'll stroke out before January 1.
