The have a hotdogger blog too.

Check out the current Hot Doggers. Who do you like best? It's tough to choose between Molly Mustard and All-beef Allison.

I know wiener, but apparently not well enough to get it in the boobies.

See - if GM still made cars like this, they wouldn't need a bailout. Oh, wait...

They'd also prefer that you have a BA or BS in communications, PR, journalism, advertising, marketing.

Hey Dad, remember that degree of mine that you mortgaged your house for? Guess what job I just landed?

Pfft, they gotta post the salary if they expect applicants. A bachelor's degree to drive a hot dog? WTF

That's Michael Strahan, former defensive end for the New York Giants and probable future Hall of Famer.

TFA: "Competition is fierce -- the company typically gets more than 1,000 applications for 12 spots."

The principles of economics say that whatever they're paying, it's too much.

I'd say high unemployment is attributed to all those applicants

My niece was a finalist last year (top 20... they take 15 into Hotdog U and keep 12). They pay $45K, all expenses, all clothing, etc. Not bad for a new college grad!!!

"They'd also prefer that you have a BA or BS in communications, PR, journalism, advertising, marketing."

So I figure they are targetting the ever-growing army of Media Studies or Communication Studies grads. In which case, I'd say the job would stretch such candidates to the very limits of their talents.

But hey, Sociology grads, don't panic, "if you really think you're Hotdogger material they'll consider other majors" so you too are still in with a chance!

That would be a real specific fetish, but with either of the two chicks in the photos above, not too far of a stretch of the old imagination.

/LOL at the black guy driving the Mini-Wienermobile

If I had heard about this job while still in college, I would've dropped everything to live in hotels for a year.... driving around a large hot dog and giving out whistles.

Coolest job evar!

As someone who lives where it was designed, I see a number of them. Cudos to the hiring managers - I have never met a driver/whatever from the Mobile that has not been upbeat and teriffic. I once had a discussion with a rep over what they ate for Weiners, citing many local producers that had *FAR* superior products to OM, and was very surprised to hear how intelligent the responses were. Up to and includig the phrase "Well, if you want to pay that price" And including "We do not sell Weiners, we sell hot dogs!" and giving a very decent explaination.

dholway [TotalFark] 2008-12-07 01:29:53 PM
Are your fingers good? 'Cuz you need good fingers to handle the hotdogs.

/And I got me one of them big ones.

Jocko Johnson is nowhere near as cool as Frank Rizzo or Sol Rosenberg, but I see what you did there nonetheless.

Hardly. If you want a very specific sort of candidate (and it sounds like their standards are very picky), then you have to pay for that. The large applicant pool increases the chance of finding that rare person in the crowd.

If Mrs Frostus is lucky she can drive my wienermobile tomorrow night.
