Considering this is the only act of customer service Comcast has ever performed, they must have a very high service rating.

The sad thing is that he will probably get written up at work for this.

LordPistachio 2008-12-07 10:05:25 AM
Was the fire started by a Verizon FiOS technician?

Came here to ask this.

Nah, he'll be terminated for letting a non-comcast employee use his ladder.

What if the poor SOB fell off the ladder, then sued comcast?

Seeing as all I see in my neighborhood is Cox, Props to the guy!

Excellent customer service!

This is probably more accurate.

At least he wasn't from Charter- the people would have been charged a labor cost and then a surcharge for lost equipment after it was burned in the fire. Then they would have been billed for the same thing the next month.

"It was nothing," Rivera said. "I got two kids at home. If they were somewhere burning, what would you do?"

You don't wanna know...

Truth. Charter sent three techs to my house after I told them repeatedly not to, because they wanted to install a home network. I told them I had already installed my home network and NOT to send anyone out. They sent three separate techs out on three separate days, charged me for each one, then charged me a "convenience fee" of $150. On top of the $50 charged per tech visit.

I am now a Verizon customer. Screw Charter's inferior internets and their lame-ass cable and their uncaring billing department and their absurdly high prices.

"Rivera, 22, lingered briefly after the fire was out, making calls and talking to reporters. Would he continue on to work?

"Of course," he said. "I have an appointment down the street.""

We was probably late.

Somewhat obscure subby.+1 anyway.
I grinned a bit.

There's a ceremony to honor his heroism tomorrow sometime between 9 and 5.

Mateyush 2008-12-07 01:00:26 PM
What the article doesn't tell you is that it took 13 days for the tech to arrive.

/To transfer service from one roommate's name to another, they disconnected, and it took nearly two weeks to reinstall.
//Wireless network at home is named "Comcast Sucks"
///Comcast sucks.

Major points for being even slightly more obscure than the headline. BuzzBlog FTW.

MinnesotaJack 2008-12-07 01:39:41 PM
THis is not the same Comcast technicians we have around here.

I'm watching people brun to death in a fire, right now.

Comcast van nowhere to be seen

Too obscure for me.

Wouldn't this be prevented by good Samaritan laws?

Where I live, Warner took over from Comcast a year or two ago. People actually say that they suck a lot less. Comcast must really be bad if some other cable company actually sucks noticeably less than they do.

Lacerated Spleen 2008-12-07 03:21:22 PM

That moves you up to -49,999,999,

We're talking below room temperature management at Comcast, so I'm just playing it like they would..

To counter that, they will fire the guy

The tech was probably a contractor and not an actual comcast employee. Even the contractors hate comcast (or so they tell me each time they come to "fix" my internets).

/comcast is still evil
