Here's a pretty simple question - has any questioned Sarah Palin's credentials to be a US Senator? I don't think so.

I'm fairly certain Caroline Kennedy knows what a Senator does. That's already one vast difference between her and Sarah Palin.

I'm also pretty sure Caroline Kennedy never insulted those who weren't among her fervent supporters by saying they weren't "Real Americans".

This "article" makes no damn sense.

Sarah Palin is a goddamn moran - she proved it many times. If Mr. Leonard thinks Caroline Kennedy is an equivalent moran, but is given better treatment, then he should provide evidence that Kennedy and Palin are equally stupid, but differently treated.

But he can't, so he whines like a little biatch...just another butthurt conservatard.

There is that. One of my big objections to Palin was that everyone I have lunch with on a regular basis would be a better President than she would be.

That's what I would do if I were governor: select some mouthbreather from a trailer-park and tell them they just won the Lotto without even buying a ticket. Tell him to go show those snot-nosed elitists what a real American looks like. Then I would rob the state treasury, abandon my office, and fly to a beach-encrusted island with no extradition treaty and lax moral standards, using some hard-stolen money to ensure I could watch C-Span every day for the giggles.

Pretty much; as cold as it sounds, one has to wonder just how the Kennedy's would be looked at if none of them had been shot. I mean JFK wasn't exactly a sterling president in his short time, and well, Teddy we all know his love of alchohol and wet women.

Joe pretty much bought and paid for their political careers with illegal money. Nazi sympathizer is a tad harsh, presonally I Think Joe was just a tad miffed that he was being kept in the dark more than any intrinsic love for Nazism.

Still this is a pretty big glaring double standard. I mean remember Fark was ablaze with stories of her slutty daughter and a hidden pregnancy before Palin even opened her mouth.

Random Reality Check 2008-12-07 04:42:34 AM
Oh look, Caroline Kennedy is exactly like Sarah Pailn -

Educational background -

B.A. from Harvard University and her J.D. from Columbia Law School, after attending the Brearley School, and Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan, and Concord Academy in Massachusetts.

Work experience -

Kennedy is an attorney, editor, writer and member of the New York and Washington, D.C. bars.

From 2002 to 2004, Kennedy worked as chief executive for the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the New York City Department of Education. During this time, she helped raise more than $65 million for the city's public schools. [5] She currently serves as the Vice Chair of The Fund for Public Schools, a public-private partnership founded in 2002 to attract private funding for public schools in New York City.

In addition, Kennedy is currently President of the Kennedy Library Foundation,[3] a director of both the Commission on Presidential Debates and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and Honorary Chairman of the American Ballet Theatre.

Published author and accomplished editor -

Kennedy and Ellen Alderman have written two books together on civil liberties:

* In Our Defense: The Bill of Rights In Action (1990) and
* The Right to Privacy (1995)

On her own, she has edited these New York Times best-selling volumes:

* A Patriot's Handbook
* The Best-Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
* A Family of Poems: My Favorite Poetry for Children
* Profiles in Courage for Our Time

She is also the author of "A Family Christmas" a collection of poems, prose and personal notes from her family history.

Now, look at all the colleges Sarah Palin has attended.

Hawaii Pacific College
North Idaho community college
University of Idaho
Matanuska-Susitna community college
University of Idaho

And that was just for her BS in communications-journalism!

Tough choice here, I guess we should probably make the decision on how the better looking woman is, right?

On his worst, most alcohol addled morning, JFK was a better president than the man we currently have in office. If you can't tell the difference, read some of JFK's speeches, speeches he largely wrote by himself, and compare them to the drivel that constantly leaks out of our current Commender in Chief.

I look forward to a great future for America - a future in which our country will match its military strength with our moral restraint, its wealth with our wisdom, its power with our purpose.

- John F. Kennedy
And did we ever let this man down.

I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered at the White House - with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.

My brother Bob doesn't want to be in government - he promised Dad he'd go straight.

I just received the following wire from my generous Daddy; Dear Jack, Don't buy a single vote more than is necessary. I'll be damned if I'm going to pay for a landslide.

- John F. Kennedy
A man with a sense of humor.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths, and to secret proceedings.

- John F. Kennedy
A man who was diametrically opposed to everything this Administration has peddled.

Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal.

- John F. Kennedy
A man who defined what many of us still believe as how we should live our lives.

I guess I can understand why the NeoCons need to vilify him.

Jim_Callahan 2008-12-07 05:03:56 AM
I'll admit my reaction was somewhat similar to the author's the first I heard of this, but unlike him I tend to at least google a bit before cementing my opinons, and I see:

(1) She has a law degree, which she got in the normal number of years. That's at least one up on Sarah Palin (I'm sure she's up by many more than that, that's just the only thing I really bothered to look up).

(2) She would have actually lived in New York before taking the seat, so that's one up on Hillary Clinton.

So... better than Palin, better than their last choice for the post. I'd say it wouldn't be a horribly bad idea. I imagine they'll have some sort of election or something, though, appointed successors don't always end well.

Kennedy most definitely was a sterling president in his time. I was quite young at the time, yet clearly remember the adults frequently talked about how Kennedy was good for the country, made us proud to be Americans. Canis you conveniently have nothing to say about Bobby. And who knows, maybe Teddy wouldn't have taken to the bottle so seriously if he did not have one brother die in WWII and have two brothers shot down in cold blood and have to wonder if the same fate wasn't in for him.

I'm not a neocon, nor am I vilifying him, nor did I compare him to Bush. Speeches are not actions. He dragged his feet on civil Rights, brought the country the closest it's ever been to nuclear anhialation and farked up a covert invasion.

I'm not saying he couldn't give inspirational speeches and to be quite honest, up until four to eight years ago I'd say he'd be a Republican Today, now I'd have to go with Libertarian or Fringe Republican, but today's Democratic Party is nowhere near what Kennedy was about nor what his speeches professed.

I said it was only a bit offputting; I can deal with it, especially since I finished Jeremiah and I need to kill off a half an hour before going home - so here I am.

Regarding Bobby, I have to give him credit, he kept pushing John on Civil Rights and truth be told he did a good job in his nepotistic position. Aside from that position he really didn't hold an office on which to be judged.

I do have to admit, without the deaths, Teddy might not have hit the bottle so hard; though booze is what made the familly so I'm not fully sold on that notion.

/I have no doubt that it farked with him something serious though so I dislike his politics but admire him none the less.

Neither of the major parties are what they were that many years ago.
I agree that Kennedy being assassinated turned him into an icon, what might have been, who knows.
There is a fast difference though ,between a senator and a vice president. I do not live in New York so I do not care one way or the other about Caroline but to compare the two is like comparing well, oranges and apples. (yes I know this was done in the election vice pres does not equal pres.)

OK, but to be fair, on his worst, most alcohol-addled morning, GWB actually got a declaration of war from congress before invading another sovereign nation rather than directly violating his constitutional perogative.

I mean, it really takes some impressive Fail to outdo our current guy on attempting to shred the constitution.
