Here in 'Merica we don't call football soccer.

"Yesterday, Luke's grandad Ian Devlin, 61, branded the ban "a joke.
Ian, a retired policeman, said: "Luke is an angelic wee boy but when he gets on the pitch he turns into a demon."

Half the humor in British comedies is their lingo.

It's "behaviour" over there innit?

I think this thread needs somebody to post that picture of the young Feyenoord fan presenting his mid-digit.

No worries, as long as he can still play football.

I know how that goes... I'm the same way.

Oh... pitch... nevermind!

Anyone else experience the sensation of reading another language?

"I coached him for a few months at the start of last season. My experience was of generally disruptive behaviour by Luke.

That's because you coach like a biatch.

My friend's 5 year old boy just started soccer recently.
For the first little while he just wandered around following the action.
After a bit he got in with the crowd kicking and running like a pro. (Ok not like an ACTUAL pro, he's 5, but like he enjoyed the sport)

After a score he huddled with a couple of other players and came up with a game plan which my friend overheard:

"Ok guys when I say 'Attack', attack"

When he yelled "attack" they all ran over and started beating on the other players.

Soccer is an inherently evil sport that promotes violence and should be wiped form the earth.

One Italian kid got a lifetime ban recently because he didn't know how to flop on the field after light contact.

That's what they get for having European referees, and for not publicly accepting a certain amount of contact or fighting is better than the alternative

Now complete this youngster's indoctrination by having him bag my groceries.

redmon24 could have won teh interwebs and ended the thread in one if only he had shut his mouth and instead inserted the picture of the kid giving the finger.

but alas, his chance of glory slipped by.

She insisted Luke, a Rangers fan, was well-behaved and had never been in any trouble in school.

Now it all makes sense.

A lifetime ban? Maybe the rest of the year ban would be a little more reasonable for a little kid.

Perhaps if parents didn't make the games seem like a life or death situation for the kids, the kids would treat it like a game.

/no lady, your kid isn't an angel
//he's a bully

I suspect that the mom needs to wake up and realize what her precious little snowflake is acting like.

/Good for the coach for not letting her bully and intimidate him to let her kid back on the team
//Like mother, like son
///Just my educated guess

That's Vinnie Jones in pic #1. Guess he found an alternative career.

Awww this reminds me of when I got a red card for foul language .... when I was 11. I'm also a girl, which seemed to make my obscene language worse to the ref.

i remember seeing a small irish man cursing what seemed to be the entire length of the pitch, complaining about a yellow card. he was given a red for his swearing (and maybe a little contact with the ref.)

funny, i never got a life time ban for any of the full out hockey fights i had as a kid... but then, we just kinda expect that.

"I was trying to explain sessions while he would perhaps be running off with balls or pulling other children or pinching them.

sounds like every 8 year old kid on the planet. at that age, fear is the only way to make them foucus...

I think they might lift it after a while, but but if he was constantly picking fights with his own team mates and as well as going after the opposing team instead of playing as he should learn that he can't do that, he had been warned before.

True he IS "only 8" but so are the rest of the players, one of the reasons that they seem a little harder than in the PRO's is because they do not want the kids going that far and forgetting that THEIR games are meant to be fun
