I thought all it took for someone to get hurt was for David Yow to walk into a room.

True, but it was a little touch and go there for a while.

yeah, probably not.

And it s not even a slam about the current music. But I remember seeing bands when I was younger and fearing for my ass, i miss those "dangerous" shows...

still got marks from one of my first show, G.B.H. in 88 or 89. HAlf the place were filled with skinheads looking to kick the ass of the other half, including me and the band played on a 3 inch riser, the guitarist was 8 inch from my face. I could have touched his strings (but knew better)

and the Lizard were intense. I remember finding the BASS absolutely devastating live

they rocked until "Shot" ,which kind of sucked

I love the Jesus Lizard. I was faaaaaaar too young to see them when they were together, but just listening to their albums scares the shiat out of me. Hopefully I can make it to see them at All Tomorrow's Parties next year.

The first time I saw The Jesus Lizard, David Yow stuck his hand down a girl standing next to me's shirt and copped a feel, and then stuck his hand down my shirt and copped a feel. On a unrelated note, that concert made me decide to wear earplugs when standing at the stage barrier.

My band covered that song.
The guitar part is tricky. My left hand hurts thinking about it.

/JL, what a fantastic band
//will always love "Head" the best

Half naked and half drunk but always totally menacing--Yow is full on the closest thing left to guys like Bon Scott.

Jesus Lizard in my opinion continued the legacy of earlier threatening bands like The Birthday Party.

Jesus Lizard,Melvins,Unsane and Swans kept the 90s VERY interesting for me.

Thank you for posting this, more people should hear of the mighty Lizard! A huge fan, but unable to see them before the break up. Hopefully, things will change if they decide to do a Chicago show after ATP.
