mother fark. I am not 100% thrilled with that news.

I'm surprised he knows what BluRay is, I guess I just assume all old people are ignorant of the latest technology.

Not sure what you mean, here hold my walker while I wind up the Victrola. I really can't wait to hear the latest suckage that kid Neil Young has to offer.

Young is actually one of the more alert, astute and intelligent oldies out there. I don't always agree with him politically, but he knows whatever he is talking about.

My only criticism is that he "admits" being addicted to marijuana. Maybe you smoke it a lot, Neil, but to call it an "addiction" is an injustice to all the real addicts - you remember Bruce Berry, don't you? (He used to load that Econoline.....van)

Well, at least he sliced us off the live in '68 album to tide us over. What a gem it is. Between songs, he sounds like a giddy teenager grabbing the brass ring for the first time.

The Archives will have at least one more live CD- Tonight's The Night, from that infamous '73 tour. He says it tears up the original album, and I believe him. I saw one of those shows, and it was Neil at his spookiest and most sublime. The granola crunchers were not happy, but I was.

Neil is a farking genius. Whatever he thinks'll work best I have 100% faith in.

Neil's always had a weakness for the latest and greatest technology has to offer.

The downside is he has entire an album (Times Fades Away) and a bunch of other stuff that were recorded on a now-obsolete digital format, which can no longer be accessed.

Neil's been talking about this project since the early 90's. I've all but given up hope of ever seeing it released. In other words, 'I'll believe it when I see it.'

He's waiting for everyone to get their tax refund so they can afford to buy it.

Seriously. I'm waiting for my Neil-freak cousin to buy it, so I can just rip the damn thing.

Hail Neil!

My theory is that this Archives project is basically Neil Young's Life Insurance Policy. He'll work on it for years until his death. And it will be released to much pomp and circumstance shortly thereafter. Because It will be bought like crazy by his close fans (Me included). And a Rock Star's death seems to always attract new fans, who will be searching for a large collection of his peak-era material to delve into.

/Frank Zappa seemed to do something similar upon his death

Haha, did you even RTFA? The technical issue was that he wants a "screensaver mode or something" so people can just pop it in and listen.

Now, I'm all for that feature, it's a good idea. But an additional 3-4 months for it? Gimme a break, man.

//probably a bigger Neil fan than all of you
///Will still believe it when I'm holding it in my hands

That was just the one thing he decided to use as an example, not the entire reason for the delay. FTFA:

As simple as that seems, that was one of the areas where we were not complete.

Neil would have only been slightly something without Crazy Horse.

Yup. He's been talking about it since I became a fan, and the first Neil album I bought was Ragged Glory in 1991.

I'm not holding my breath, but I do believe it will eventually will come out.

What, it wasn't enough for CSNY to write a song about your state?

/Going to see him next week for the 3rd time in one year.

Saw him about a week ago here in Halifax.

He sounds just as good live as he does on disc - and puts off a great show. Lots of unexpected soloing and improv guitar work.
