It wasn't exactly "road rage," but the last time I got ticketed for driving like an idiot, it was the Butthole Surfers' fault ("Who Was In My Room Last Night?")

It should be mouth for war over farking hostile.

Vehicle by Ides of March. Dunno why, but it pumps me up for some reason. Not to RAGE levels, per se, but gets me going.

No "Road Rage" by Catatonia?

Gravitholus 2008-12-05 06:27:27 PM
Those aren't road rage songs. They are fark the speed limit, haul ass songs.

10. Metallica "Battery"
9. N.W.A. "Straight Outta Compton"
8. Rage Against the Machine "Bulls on Parade"
7. Pantera "F**kin' Hostile"
6. The Bronx "Heart Attack American"
5. Nine Inch Nails "March of the Pigs"
4. Iggy and the Stooges "Search and Destroy".
3. Slayer "Angel of Death"
2. Misfits "Bullet"
1. Motorhead "Ace of Spades"

I love Black Flag, but I can't listen to them in traffic. If I hear "Clocked In" or "Police Story" in the middle of gridlock, it makes me angrier and angrier.

I would have gone with Metallica's Whiplash (new window), although Battery is a good choice.

I'm also not too happy that "bad habit" didn't make the list, but the mad max video set to "the ace of spades" did make me happy.

In my pants.

(I mean, besides the fact that only about 20 people have ever heard it.)

Another vote for Bad Habit. At least Search and Destroy is in there. Wouldn't mind seeing Rhymin' and Stealin'.

Tommy Moo 2008-12-05 06:54:38 PM
Does anyone know why every recording I can find of Iggy Pop's Search & Destroy sounds like it was recorded by holding up a microphone connected to a boom box while someone played a cassette tape of the original recording in the next room?

Exactly. So use that rage while you're driving.

/Bad Habit should be on there, though

The original recordings on the album "Raw Power" were badly mixed. The remastered version will reach through the speakers and kick your ass.

I assume you have Raw Power? That's probably the "best" version. Maybe they had to make room for the coke mirror and the only place was the mixer board.

Sherjo311 2008-12-05 07:06:59 PM
i get my road rage out with compliments from soulfly (frontlines) and machine head (davidian)

but then again, i listen to that stuff even when i'm relatively calm

TypoFlyspray 2008-12-05 07:07:53 PM
No Maiden? List Fails. Aces High, The Trooper, The Phantom of the Opera, Wasted Years, Number of the Beast, The Evil That Men Do.... The list goes on and on.

Where was Dragula on there?

That's Fine, but it is one of the all time best road rage tunes, like it or not.

Misfits "Bullet"?

Really? Wouldnt Where Eagles Dare be a better road rage song?

Herb_the_betta 2008-12-05 07:12:49 PM
I swear if this is another slideshow I'm going to have to choke a biatch.

Hey man you know I'm really okay
The gun in my hand will tell you the same
But when I'm in my car
Don't give me no crap
Cause the slightest thing and I just might snap

When I go driving I stay in my lane
But getting cut off makes me insane
I open the glove box
Reach inside
I gonna wreck this farker's ride

I guess I got a bad habit
Of blowin' away
Yeah I got a bad habit
And it ain't goin' away
Yeah

Well they say the road's a dangerous place
If you flip me off I'll get in your face*
You drive on my ass
Your foot's on the gas
And your next breath is your last

I guess I got a bad habit
Of blowin' away
Yeah I got a bad habit
And it ain't goin' away
Yeah

Drivers are rude
Such attitudes
But when I show my piece
Complaints cease
Something's odd
I feel like I'm God
You stupid dumbshiat goddam MOTHERfarkER!

I open the glove box
Reach inside
I'm gonna wreck this farker's ride

I guess I got a bad habit
Of blowin' away
Yeah I got a bad habit
And it ain't goin' away
Yeah

The reason why The Offspring aren't on the list is because they're god awful. It doesn't matter if the song is about road rage or not. I say this about very very few bands, but that's one bad band and it's not open for debate.

Absent, thank god.

A second vote here for Machinehead's "Davidian". "Emperium" should get the honorable mention.

Oh, and Dimmu Borgir's "Lepers Among Us". For a band that tries so hard to be eevul and spooky that it's hilarious, that is one hell of a driving song.

Clutch - Animal Farm

"Listen up you stinking maggots, it seems you just don't get it
well I've been appointed to inform you, your days are numbered"

I know the premise of the song has absolutely nothing to do
with road rage, but I like screaming those two lines at other
drivers
