Deal with it.

p.s. Barney Frank has zero business giving anybody advice on how to handle economic problems.

Yes...please keep underestimating Obama. It's paid such huge dividends so far, hasn't it?

I'll just stand on the sidelines and point and laugh...

*facepalm*

WTF is he supposed to be doing? He doesn't have any authority until 1/20/09. Unless someone's doing the time warp, we're not there yet.

Don't you get it? Since they didn't vote for him, they get to demand what form "change" takes. And they want change to mean him doing something outside his constitutional mandate, so they can then excoriate him for overstepping his bounds.

Makes perfect sense if you're a NRO staff writer.

F*ck off subby, if he WAS taking a more active role, you'd be biatching that he doesn't have any real authority yet. In the eyes of the right, no matter what he does, he's wrong.

Obama is doing exactly what he should be doing. The country right now is still Bush's. And until Obama takes the oath of office, there is nothing he can or should do about it.

SilentStrider: The country right now is still Bush's.

This needs to be repeated a few times.

Bush is still the president.
Bush is still the president.
Bush is still the president.

And more importantly, he's been the president for the last eight farking years. If you've got a complaint with how things are going in or around the ol' executive branch, you know where the blame lies.

Obama is doing the right thing. They can get as impatient as they want but until he is President, he isn't in a position to really do anything about it. Even then he will only have so much he can do to fix things. He's doing the right thing so far in my opinion.

RoxtarRyan [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:22:28 PM
You mean as soon as he was elected he can't start doing stuff?

bulldg4life [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:28:56 PM
You know, if Obama was injecting himself and trying to work with Bush to make decisions...these same people would be complaining about how Obama is trying to usurp Bush's power and is doing something illegal and unconstitutional and he's breaking the fabric of society by trying to be de facto-President before he is legally able to do so.

flavor of the month: haha libs! you voted for someone who hasn't even been inaugurated yet!

heh

Occam's Chainsaw [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:29:28 PM

Fun fact: he's not even been elected yet. The electoral college doesn't sit until Dec. 15.

"He says we only have one president at a time," Frank said. "I'm afraid that overstates the number of presidents we have. He's got to remedy that situation."

Overstates? So, we have no presidents?

cruci fiction [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:32:04 PM
It seems to me Bush checked out about a year ago. I don't think I've heard from him since the primaries really started up... Someone needs to get him to executive-order Obama the Presidential powers so he can go smoke weed and play GTA in Crawford. I doubt he wants to be the President any more than Palin wants to take the SATs.

DandamanFL [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:34:31 PM
How did Barney Frank miss the list of Democrats who need to go away?

JacksBlack [TotalFark] 2008-12-04 11:51:33 PM
If he stuck his nose in there, he'd catch hell for that, too.

If the economy cannot wait 2 more months for Obama's input, then the economy is not salvageable.

/voted for McCain but intent on giving the President-Elect a fair shake

Megain [TotalFark] 2008-12-05 12:05:43 AM
"The Obama team has to step up," Sen. Christopher Dodd, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and one of the lead negotiators, said Nov. 21 in Hartford, Conn. "In the minds of the people, this is the Obama administration. I don't think we can wait until January 20."
i love that line

Now that I think about it...don't we address each living former president as President ___________? So in a way we have a few presidents at a time.

On the other hand, Bush is a useless pile of shiat* so maybe Obama should step in.

Barny Frank wants Obama to stick his neck out and give the rest of congress political cover without the ability to actually so anything.

That's retarded. Even if Obama was president he should not be dictating the details of the deal. He should be guiding it along (which he is mostly doing now) but not diving into the details. That is congress's job.

At least Obama is pushing his own party to do something. Bush couldn't even do that.

But he has stayed away from trying to dictate remedies for the toughest problems Congress is confronting: the auto industry's troubles and how to spend the $700 billion bailout.

Obviously, the question will take some consideration before answering, seeing that it is the toughest problem, you farking filthy GOPers created. In otherwords, shut your yappers for a minute to let the man think, you treason supporting GOP vermin.

Well, I think we made a jump to the left on election day, albeit a little one. Guess we'll see who steps to the right next...
