C'mon, subby. There's nothing more Christian than drunken wife-abusing!

This may have worked with a "Scary" tag, but we all know in our hearts that this god-forsaken reunion would make a boatload of money.

That's too bad. Creed 2 (aka Alter Bridge) was actually a lot better than the origianl, IMHO.

I wonder if the tour will be sponsored by Denny's? (pops)

I am recalling Stapp's performance of "God Bless America" from the 2004 World Series and shivering in fear.

I caught Alter Bridge this summer with Sevendust. They were much better than I thought they would be. Miles Kennedy can sing pretty damn good. His duet with Sevendust on "Sorrow" gave me chills.

Alter Bridge, BLAAARRRRGGGHHHHH! I listened to one song of theirs because Cristina Scabbia did backing vocals on it.

Even SHE couldn't save that song.

Of course Stapp is with them, subby. Reuniting without your headline-grabbing vocalist is like The Doors having a reunion concert with the current flash-in-the-pan rock singer as the substitute.

The fact that Scott Stapp hasn't been murdered only proves that dreams do not come true.

I forget. I think it was an alternate version of whatever song of theirs is on the radio that sounds like a by-the-numbers Pearl Jam ripoff. I was serious when I said that even she couldn't save it.

Its like I'm 13 all over again.

Except this time I realize how big a farking idiot I was for being into that crap.

/If they tour w/o Stapp I'd probably have to see it.

Can someone just give the singer a tetanus shot so he doesn't have to "sing" with lock-jaw anymore?

"Wih ahhhhms wy o'en nah!"

SAY NO TO LOCK-JAW.

I wish someone had the video from SNL of Sandler Playing Eddie Vedder, and (don't remember) some one else playing Stapp-beater and one other guy, all with the same craptastic vocals on a boat in the middle of no where. Was Fantastic.

All should sample Bob Rivers' Creed parody tune "My Mouth's Not Open".

Go Fast Turn Left: Maybe they'll go on tour with Nickelback. That'd be splendid.

I think if Creed reunites that Nickelback is legally obligated to quit, since the universal suck quotient would be too high to contain the both of them.

If there were any justice in the world, Marc Tremonti would be the sole unharmed survivor as a bunch of teenage poseur-Satan-worshipers takes out Alter Bridge in a hail of gunfire.

I saw Creed live and agree it was one of the worst live shows of any national headliner type band I've ever seen. I was actually there to to see Collective Soul, but I had hoped that Creed might be kind of cool. Nope. They seemed very tired and unenthusiastic. You could just feel that they didn't want to be there. I know that even when you're a rockstar there's going to be days that it's a job and you're worn out from the road and would rather be elsewhere, but the crowd should never see that.

He looks in that above picture as if he carries the pungent aroma of five onions mixed in a food processor.

There is a Rolling Stone article from some time ago that is pretty interesting. Here are some of my fav parts:

Before he pulled the trigger, he looked up and saw a picture of his son, Jagger, the product of a troubled marriage. Jagger, then four, was staying with Stapp's mother at the time. "And in an instant," he says, "I just turned and shot the house up. And I just broke down. I was like, 'I was about to blow my head off. How low can I get?'"

Stapp taped an episode of Casino Cinema (pops), a celebrity poker show on the cable channel Spike TV. He was obviously intoxicated. During the episode, Stapp slurs his words, curses incessantly, claims Dave Grohl has "a little cock," demonstrates a bizarre series of kung-fu moves and demands a kiss from co-host Beth Ostrosky (Howard Stern's girlfriend), later telling her, "My son thinks babies come from my sac" and "I make more money than Howard."

He [Stapp] also says he could foresee a Creed reunion someday. Tremonti [guitarist] says fans shouldn't hold their breath. "I haven't listened to a Creed song in years," he confesses. "I can't stand it. I wouldn't want to play those songs again. It was a complete nightmare. When people from that era get together, it's like a convention of people who went through Nam."

Don't be giving anyone any ideas. Unless, of course, you wanted to attempt to create a very large, very vacuuous vortex of suck.

Lacuna Coil rules. Comalies kicked ass. With that said, I don't ever want to hear she was involved with anything that was once involved with Stapp. That's the musical equivalent of nailing Paris Hilton and winding up with crabs, syphyllis and the hep.

FeedTheCollapse 2008-12-02 12:38:24 PM
I can't see a huge musical difference between Alter Bridge and Creed. At best, listening to Alter Bridge gives you the satisfaction of knowing you're not supporting Scott Stapp. Both are more or less PJ knock-offs.

i run in to scott everyonce in a while here in town. he takes jason bonham's son to basketball and baseball games (think little league).

only talked to him about the current game in front of us. seems like an ok guy in this regard. does get a little excitable at times and starts to curse but he holds it back.

one time he had more skoal bandits in his lower lip then i knew would fit.

Alter Bridge is pretty decent. Their best song, IMO, is the one that they sold to the WWE as Edge's entrance theme (Metalingus). And Miles Kennedy is a damn impressive singer.

Listen to any Creed single and then compare it to "Ties That Bind" or "White Knuckles". BIG difference. Blackbird is one of the best hard rock albums to come out in the last decade.

I'll admit, I used to like a few songs off of "My Own Prison" way back when I was 11, but then I heard Pearl Jam for the first time and that part of me died, never to return. "That part" being the young, christian, and into-shiatty-bands part.

That the only song of theirs that I've heard, and I just heard it for the first time this week. I felt kind of sick when I looked them up, due to liking that song so much, and finding out that the band is mostly ex-Creed members. Stapp must have been solely responsible for Creed's total sucktitude.

MHudson 2008-12-02 08:31:08 PM
The song the chick from Lacuna Coil sang on is a bad example because, one, it's one song and a single at that, and two, she seems to ruin songs that she does with other artists, such as Megadeth's "A Tout Le Monde". It's almost a shame Alter Bridge is 3/4 Creed members, because people will immediately compare the two bands, despite having almost completely different sounds.

bluorangefyre 2008-12-02 11:43:37 PM
So the rumors of Myles Kennedy going to what's left of Led Zeppelin must be true. Otherwise, we'd be hearing about new Altar Bridge music instead of a Creed reunion.

I for one am actually excited. I grew up about 70 miles north of Tallahassee, and to me they still are like the local band that did good, because most bands from that area are lucky to get play on X 101.5, let alone every radio station on the freakin' planet. As long as Stapp's ego stays in check, then these boys might go far again.

I would disagree that she ruined A Tout Le Monde.
