Ah, the old holiday classic.

Not so rare. I have it on my iPod random rotation playlist.

Howard Stern played it all the time (Tim was one of his greatest semi-frequent guests ~ an ethnic Jew who was born-again Christian & had crippling OCD attacks)

Incidently ... Tiny Tim is a genius!! Seriously!

"Tiptoe Through the Tulips" is his career defining track. Never heard of this one.

Funny thing, he was such a pop icon in the 60s (hung with Beatles; Johnny Carson appearances).

When he died, Stern put together a tribute show to him & was kinda pissed that no one else cared enough to salute him aside from a 20 second blurb on the news.

Schadenfreude's glaucoma is just acting up again. Give him a break.

Am I the only one who finds Tiny Tim's performances (and himself) to be very disturbing and annoying?

/hopes Schadenfreude's glaucoma gets treated.

When I was a lot younger, I thought that Tiny Tim was just this insane guy who didn't seem to care about what a nutcase he made himself look like. Now, maybe that's true, maybe not, but, as it turns out, he was also quite an accomplished researcher and collector of American folksongs.

I didn't learn that until much, much later.

OH wow, I remember an album filled to the BRIM with holiday classics from this man.

Has an especially creepy version of "Silent Night" in which there's a couple minute long interlude in the middle where he speaks about fondling children.

Creeptastic.

His appearances on Stern were some of the best from the show. The guy was like a walking consumer reports manual - talking in detail about crazy shiat like what brand or style of butter he liked and why, along with it's retail price, etc.
