His band consists of Filipino cover musicians.

I'm just glad to know that the musical genius of both Journey and Steve Perry are out there to brighten our otherwise dull world.

Possibly the single most disturbing thing I ever saw on the 'tubes was a page dedicated to Steve Perry slash fiction.

Just the idea that there is a market for such things haunts me to this day.

Journey was and is overrated.

That lame-ass and his craptacular band sucked back in the 80s.
I have no desire to revisit his or their suckiness.

In college I got laid so many times when I tricked girls into thinking Steve Perry ballads made me emotional. Open Arms, Sherry, etc. I would say that's our song, we have to dance. Then we'd leave.

I'm sorry you had to trick girls to have sex. Maybe they just felt sorry for you.

paulandorder: I hate Journey.

There are two kinds of people in the world: people who like Journey, and people who won't admit to liking Journey.

I've noticed that even people who claim they don't like Journey will start singing along whenever "Don't Stop Believing" or "Any Way You Want It" starts playing - especially if they've had a few drinks.

Even the most die-hard music snob has to admit that Journey has released quite a few catchy, memorable songs over the years.

I'm probably one of the biggest Journey/Perry fans out there, but this seriously is a monumental waste of time. All his solo material and stuff he did with Journey was just remastered for the second time two years ago.

Someday love will find you
Break those chains that bind you
One day will remind you
How we touched and went our separate ways.

If he ever hurts you
True love won't desert you
You know I still love you
Though we touched and went our separate ways.

PIFFLE!

"Oh Sherry" is one of the most enjoyable and rocking pop rock songs ever recorded by a major record label artist.

It has a punch, rich rhythm and resonance that is quite remarkable and unmatched even to this day. Not since Patti Smyth's band "Scandal" or Night Ranger did I feel so alive and empowered the first time I experienced "Oh Sherry".

seriously though, Journey=rules

and Oh Sherry= still ownsfark y'all

They all need to hug and make up and reunite already. Steve needs to get off his diva high horse and Sean needs to take a xanax and get on with a tour. If Van Halen can...seriously.

Not a fan of Journey, but I will have to admit, Steve Perry can sing his ass off. In fact, they're all pretty phenomenal musicians, it's just that they played top-40 mainstream stuff that's not really my thing.

But hey - credit where it's due.

Seconded. Met him as a kid, not so much worked with him. Damn nice guy.

And lest we forget the Journey video game for Atari. To my knowledge, they were the first band to have their own video game, however lame that damn game was.

I read an article by Herbie Herbert the former manager of Journey,
he seems really bitter about Steve Perry, so he's pretty biased, one thing he said though was that Steve was dicking around the rest of the guys for years by saying ok we'll do an album and then changing his mind. (Same thing with touring) He also said that one reason why Steve won't record and tour anymore is that his voice (which is his trademark) has lost it range (this is what happens when you get older). And that Steve doesn't want anyone to know this.

The article also said that in order for Journey to record the old songs with the new guy that they had to cut Steve in on the take.
So currently Steve makes 1/6th of all the proceeds from Journey's latest album and tour.

Here's a link to the article (it's pretty long):
