that contactmusic site sucks unwashed yeasty balsz and people who post links from there deserve to be torn apart by wild dogs. the pics of one of the background members of a douchey band shopping in california with his kids have everything to do with the story.

Also, im sure the people of mumbai are heartbroken at not hearing roger waters whiny songs railing against the music industry which made him a rock star. im sure they can relate.

I agree. But there is only so much self-absorbed, verbose meandering that I can take from the guy. His music is almost, well, it's almost masturbatory. Tons of respect for the man, but damn...

If the man made a record literally masturbating while crying about his poor ole pa dying at Anzio, I'd buy the record. I love me some Roger Waters.

That guy's hair is amazing.

I recently heard a recording of Pink Floyd from Oakland Coliseum 1977... wow. Though Gilmour accounts for most of their sound, it was apparent that Waters was the one driving that heavy beast.

Roger Waters hates all of you too.

When you write a lyric like "And the silver in her hair shines in the cold November air", get back to me.

I have that on double cd... it's pretty damn good sound quality.
and the 15 min or so version of "pigs three different ones" is great... so is "SOYCD" and "Dogs".
hearing gilmour and waters flub a line or two early on in "have a cigar" and having a giggle fit about it is priceless.

If you like the In the Flesh tour, you should try and find the Boston gig from June 26, 1977. The sound and performance quality are out of this world. It usually circulates as "The Perfect Day" or sometimes "Curse of the Pig". Oakland is great because of Careful with that Axe, Eugene, but I slightly prefer the Boston gig.

If Roger Waters cancelled, then folks in India have been deprived of seeing one of the greatest live shows ever conceived.

You fail, failmitter.

Thanks dude!
I remember seeing / listening to a double cd PF bootleg from Boston, ie. Boston Gardens, but that was from 1975, on the tour supporting Wish you were here.
From what I remember from the tracklisting [and this was five years ago]
it went:
Wish You Were Here
Dark Side
Echoes

[maybe one or two other songs, but i forget them]

You have a great memory! The 1975 setlist was almost always as follows:

1. Raving and Drooling [Early version of Sheep]
2. You Gotta Be Crazy [Early version of Dogs]
3. Shine On I-V
4. Have a Cigar
5. Shine On VI-IX
6. Dark Side of the Moon
E: Echoes

The setlist is kind of weird, but there's a story behind it. The tour started in November '74 and ended in June '75, but Wish You Were Here wasn't released until September. The album was originally supposed to be the first five songs from the setlist, but at some point Waters decided to sit on the first two songs for a different album. The band went back into the studio after the tour, and the album was re-worked into Wish You Were Here.

Boston Garden was known for having fantastic acoustics, so it's common for recordings made there to have great sound. My copy of the '75 Boston gig is labeled "Echoes in the Garden", and sounds great. However, the standout show from 1975 was the last show of the tour, at Knebworth. Roy Harper provides vocals for Have a Cigar (like he does on the record), and it's the last time the whole band played Echoes together, and also the last time they played Dark Side of the Moon in full. Now that Rick has left us, it'll never happen again.

AH HA!
i had a split second thought of it having something to do with "Animals" on that 75 boston setlist....
i'm a floyd fan [was a big floyd fan a few years ago, but it's lessened a bit], i can't believe i almost completely forgot about them doing early versions of "Sheep" and "Dogs" ["raving..." and "you gotta..."] [*facepalm*]
i even have those songs, Raving to the end of Shine On IX, somewhere... on cd... it's either a good audience recording or a fair soundboard lol.... haven't listened to it in years...

"ECHOES IN THE GARDEN" !!
THAT was the one i listened to five years ago!
nice! thx.

I never knew that about the last show of the 75 tour! huh.
interesting...
Roy Harper is cool... I only 'know' him from that song, and the title of a Led Zep song ["hats off to Roy harper"]...
he had a bunch of solo stuff, tho right? more Folky?]
Roger did a good job of "have a cigar" [reaching the notes wise] on that 75 tour, same with 1977...
I wouldn't've blamed them for retiring playing all of "dark side" after the 75 tour.... they had to play it for like three years straight, right?
like 1972/73, 1975? At least they still kept "money", "time", etc.
btw, wasn't 1977 In the Flesh [possibly Oakland?] the last time they played "Careful with that Axe, Eugene" ?

man, now that i think about it, playing all of The Wall [and that's it, no encores, right? or was there some encores?] for a year or two was pretty ballsy...
reminds me of what Genesis did with the "Lamb" tour in 74/75.
They did all of that, with maybe one or two encores ["watcher" and something else]

or Tull with their Passion Play tour:
All of "Passion Play"
All of "Thick as Brick"
half/most of "Aqualung" and other older songs
