2. Less drama
Which is not to say no drama. If you are human and you live around humans you will have drama. It does not matter if you mind your own business and keep to yourself, trust me, the coonts and assholes will find you.

Kreist, don't I know it. Generally, they find you at work. Or they find your boss and biatch about how you're anti-social.

Oh, yes. It's especially bad when you work with someone who just can't imagine that someone could not like them, yet still work effectively with them.

It does not matter if you mind your own business and keep to yourself, trust me, the coonts and assholes will find you. Being genuinely antisocial ensures that you will run into this less, which is not to say, never. Be ready for it, but going under the radar means that you probably won't have to dig more than one shallow grave per decade.

Uhh, I just bought flowers yesterday not because I wanted to get laid, because my girlfriend and I just moved in together, she had to go to work mid move, and we were tired to begin with. I bought her flowers to make her feel loved and appreciated. People with anti-social behaviors are no more likely to be smart as thoes who don't. In fact most rich geniouses are very socially graceful, and the richest people are extremely social. (bill gates and warren buffett come to mind) Also, I think that if you take the look that the world is a pre-school, you are doing yourself a dis-service, but when it comes times to get things done, It's the people you know, not the people you talk down to that will help you out. It sounds like this guy just needs a big hug.

"The most sociable, chatty, clingy, blowhards out there, the ones who try to spend as little time alone as possible, for them being alone is the same thing as being lonely."

So true. Plus, if they're alone, they have to deal with themselves, and the vapid nothingness inside their brains. For some reason, they don't seem to like doing that.

All good reasons (and the writer has a lot of women issues), but the women part is why I wouldn't want to be anti-social. I think I've have better luck meeting women though friends/social events then as a lone wolf type. Amazing how it works like that.

I suppose I'm not entirely antisocial but I tend to stay in rather than go out. I'm a nice person, I just don't enjoy large groups of people or parties (anymore).

That is just getting old my friend. I will gladly get off your lawn. But if your father in law is giving you that advice, I would recommend taking your wife out at least once a month, becuse she is biatching to her dad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Fark a social website, and thus the myriad of people here claiming to be "anti-social" are instead extremely social in some regard? I'm pretty sure posting here regularly violates almost all of those "rules."

The good thing about antisocial people, is that they rarely get to spread their genes, apart from donating sperm.

Sounds like somebody has the gay.

Just kidding. But yes, on the whole I agree with you.

I do see being anti-social as being a problem when it gets out of hand. When I get home sometimes I just like to be by myself and my alone time is important to me so I don't lose it. But when it starts to become every night I know that I have to get out there and do things or I'll miss out on experiences and relationships with people.

Some of the best times I've had were when I've forced myself to go do something with people when I really just wanted to stay home and sit around in my underwear.

Plus if you just stay at home forever nothing ever gets done. The "geniuses" referred to in TFA are a minority of anti-social types. Its hard to confuse spending time alone to solve complex world problems with playing Gears of War 2 all day.

You have to be social to make lots of money. But making lots of money doesn't make you a genius. I have no doubt that Gates and Buffet are smart guys, but when i think of geniuses i think of Einstein, Newton, Da Vanci. That's what the article is getting at.
