Water makes them lighter. Once on land their weight pretty much suffocates them.

Whales can be confused by the sounds of powered vessels (ships, boats, etc). It interferes with their sonar. This could potentially cause such them to run aground. For this reason we should ban all motorized vessels. Save the Whales!!!!

The interesting thing WOULD be to see if the US had a sub in the area since AFAIK it is the NEW sonar equipment that is really meant to be screwing up the direction finders in sea life.

Also check if Australia had one of theirs in the area not sure if they are playing with the newer stuff or not

I was wondering the exact same thing myself. It wouldn't be THAT hard to determine if any military people are running sonar tests nearby, would it? Then we could decide if the tests are affecting marine life and screwing up their sonar.

for some reason, I bet this question will never be addressed.

I think people making constant jokes about their weight caused them, in a fit of desperation and remorse, to beach themselves rather than live another day as the butt of constant fat jokes.

FTA: Because of the physical beating they take from stranding on rocks and surf, compared to sandy beach strandings, animals die more quickly," said Gales.

Said Gales, who has no relations to the American reporter, Ric Romero.

Did the article mention how PETA was against any attempts to save the poor whales because it's "unnatural"? Oh, and Hayden Panettiere also doesn't give a damn.

Sonar cannot harm whales because humans cannot affect nature. Fark taught me that.
