As an American who has lived in Romania for the past 4 years, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Romania is, has been and will always be a miserable failure.

In all fairness, the place was such a mess that all the ones able to leave DID. I work with several Romanians who are smarter and better educated than the average American or Canadian.

It's really the best thing about European women - they're used to guys who are such douchebags that we look like angels.

I fully agree with you, but despite the coup d'état in 89, very little has changed in the political and beaurucratic structures.
