In other words, the only AC/DC that ever mattered.

/well, Back In Black was good, too...

I played in a indie band that used to cover this song at the end of the show. It was funny watching the holier than thou pricks rock the fark out when this came on.

I was just watching this a few days ago. I think this is the only time I have ever seen Angus with his little shorts ever.

/Greatest AC/DC song ever
//Whole Lotta Rosie ain't far behind.
///AC/DC died when Bon Scott did.

not one ounce of genuine passion or invention
but the rehashing of a bland formala
over and over.

Unless you're a troll, you're just another Canadian with an inferiority complex.

Not even sure why you're hacking on the most successful rock band from your Commonwealth kindred Australia.

Many successful rock bands don't deviate from sex and booze themes and just pound out a 2/4 or 4/4 as appropriate. AC/DC added a criminal twist to it and it worked. So STFU and go shovel your lawn.

...yeah. That's kinda the point. When Bon was at the helm, their whole schtick was delivered with a big, fat wink. They knew how silly they were, recognized it, and so did everyone else. It wasn't until Brian Johnson came along that everybody started taking them so damn seriously. Brian was there to ROCK, but Bon was there to have fun.

Also back then their music was a lot more varied. They were basically a blues/rock band that went bluesy or hard rock on a lot of songs. Bon Scott was it though. I refuse to listen to anything after him. Ride On is a great example of a blues.

For this song Henry Rollins and The Hardons did a great version when they teamed up in the early 90's. Saw their 'secret' gig at the Kardomah in Sydney and was blown away. The recorded version is alright.

In 1977?????

The song and video are originally from 1977, but this version is taken from a compilation/documentary series on Australian music called "Long Way To The Top"^ that aired in 2001. The credits are for the 2001 show, not the 1977 video clip.

Great series too - highly recommended.

ahh ac/dc when they were what made them awesome..
they were like that gang of headbanger hooligans in yer neighborhood always in trouble with that one older kid (Bonn) leading the pack.

Me too. I love our Sirius Ac/dc only channel....except when I have to run over to mute the damn thing when whats-his-face-sure--hes-prolly-a-nice-guy-who-got-lucky-when-Bon-died-Brian comes on the radio.

I've not noticed them playing Brian doing Bon songs tho or else I'd have to be worshipping the porcelain god.

AC/DC shoulda renamed themselves post Bon

/LOVES the Bon Scott

Wow Damn that was truly awesome!

I am forever in your debt, subby...

I still remember the first time I heard this song/band..
my freshman year Hiram College fall 1978 (jeebus 30 years ago!)
my roommate had this album and the loudest "stereo" in the dorm
/thanks for the (hazy) memories....

I'm calling shenanigans on this post. People who play in bands usually dont classify themselves as 'indie'. Also, when you play a gig and a song comes up, you say 'It was funny ...when we...

\played this tune
\\brought this one out
\\\ripped into the AC/DC one etc...

They DONT say 'when this one came on' if they are playing the song rather than dj'ing it.
