That book is actually eerily prescient in its insights about how political processes affect language.

I'm quite aware of that, but it bothers me using a term I learned from playing a MMO and apparantly originates from comic books, and then turning around and using that term to apply to reality.

Considering that human beings have been ret-conning history since humans have been able to preserve their memories -- and the hard evidence was finally captured in any number of Roman, Egyptian, or Sumerian memorials -- he wasn't being prescient. He was just telling it like it's always been.

I heard that Joe Biden was closely involved in the key decision to plagiarize a story about Shrillary being under sniper fire in Bosnia.
