Seven years, Jesus Christ.

The wrong two Beatles died first.

RIP George. There were few talents like you.

Although I personally wanted to rip your head off in 1988 with that damn talking moose video they played endlessly on MTV. I hope you had a coke habit you were paying for, or something.

Rest in peace, George. The only man I've never met whom I love.

The Beatles were a popular band for about 5 years. Compare that to The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Van Halen, and several many.

Eh...ok? Aside from the fact that the Beatles broke up in 1970 and the other bands you mentioned have been around for 20 or 30 (or more) years, I don't see what that has to do with what I said.

Hmmmmm... not a hater but his lyrics seemed lightweight for the ideas he was trying to get across.

And 'ATMP' stills sounds 'muddy' to me.

BUT! Damn, he seems like he was a really nice guy.

I think I'll go play ATMP. I havent in like 20 years or longer.

Still have the vinyl.

Mow my law.

I somewhat disagree. Revolver is excellent but I think Abbey Road is the later record you need to know. To my mind, it just might be the best rock record ever made so far.

Great, but this one was even better. I couldn't watch the video when I was a little kid though, because all the extra hands scared the 5-year-old shiat out of me.

normally i hate star-studded tribute concerts, but the "concert for george" was just brilliant. the ukulele-into-full-band version of "something" was absolutely transcendent.

The remaster is excellent, and is the only copy in print currently, available only on CD (mp3 vendors?). One thing that George wished he could change is something you're complaining about - too much echo and reverb. My Sweet Lord is a good example. Listen to how smoothed out and smeared the background singers are on "Hare Krishna." Without the added effects, it would be more distinct, and you might even be able to suss out the number of backing singers. Overall I don't think it plagues the album terribly, and it's absent from Apple Jam.
I recently bought the triple-vinyl from a bookstore; I didn't need it, it's just a beautiful package and a great work.

Everyone check out the Traveling Wilburys

George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison from 1988.

Handle With Care, Not Alone Anymore and End of The Line are my favs.

I always loved this song Link (new window) not just because it was a beautiful tribute, but because it was a testament to the songwriter George was and his love for John.

Thank You George....for so very much

George had the best lines in "A Hard Day's Night" and the best scene in the movie as well.

I'll watch "Concert for George", "AHDN" and "Help!" tonight to remember him.

The Beatles have been a popular band for about 45 years. They just stopped making music in 1970.

Or, just tune into any classic rock station and wait 5-7 minutes.

I like to tell my friend, a beatles fan, that; and then add "In that case, Ringo Starr will live forever".

Then she'll say, near tears, "I love Ringo."

God damn, that's a great song.

George was the best Beatle IMHO.

I'm sure you've seen this before, but it deserves another listen. I was just telling my friend the other day how hard Prince rocks on this track.

Tom Petty, that "other guy" from the Traveling Wilburys, Prince, and a bunch of other People doing "My Guitar Gently Weeps" (new window)

'that other guy' is the only person in the wilburys with actual musical talent besides GH.

Yeah, whoever heard of Orbison or ELO. Hacks.

I don't care about Dylan. He doesn't need any more people sticking up for him.
