I once had a boss who hated me. I kept making her money so she buried her hatred and put on forced smiles when needed. I'm sure BillO makes more money for Rupert than I ever made for that biatch, so I'm sure it's easier for Rupert to keep that smile pasted on his face when he thanks BillO for his year of service at the annual Christmas party.

That said, the one thing I always give Bill O kudos on is his work on Jessica's Law.

It is a biography. Wolff's perception isn't necessarily accurate. Just because Wolff makes a claim doesn't mean it is true.

Murodch may be personally embarassed by O'reilly but Billy makes him a ton of money, and as long as that is so, Murdoch will do nothing about him, because that is Murdoch's true obsession in life you think Murdoch bursts with pride when Fox airs the latest installment of "when Animals attack" or "temptation Island " or whatever the hell that vile polygraph-based show is called?

But somehow the giant pile of money he rolls around in every night seems to take the sting out his shame.

I don't even know what that law is but it is almost axiomatic that any Law named after a person, particularly a little boy or girl that's been a victim of a crime, is a poorly written, hastily drawn, bad idea rushed through a legislature by grandstanding polticians.

Jessica's Law^

Basically, all sex offenders who diddled a victim under 12 would get 25 years, mandatory, as well as lifetime monitoring.

Bill O'Liar deserves no credit wrt Jessica's Law. He just milked the situation for ratings and money, he cares nothing about people or children. Unless, of course, they are gonna give him money. I bet he still hates you when you give him money, he seems that kind of person.

Wolff describes Murdoch as not wanting News Corp. to be defined by Fox News.

If he wants to clean up Fox News, all he has to do is publicly fire Steve Douchey (sic). He has to "surprise" them on Fox & Friends, sit down with them, have some chitchat, and say "Arrr, Steve you're fired! Walk the plank!"

I guarantee that will make the big boys like Hannity and O'Reilly stop being so much like themselves.

Since it "tis the season," I am pretty certain Bill is not a "moran" in the conventional sense, and not a political hack like Hannity.

He is a smart man with a rather callous "shtick" that plays well to his audience.

However, whenever he is on Letterman, he is learning to tone it back a bit, and you can glimpse a pretty shrewd guy who actually gets his public image, and can laugh at himself (all the way to the bank

Rupert Murdock is out to destroy America (and he is doing a good job so far) by using his own Fox News, Directv, the Dow Jones, the Wall Street Journal (which used to be an unbiased business journal), MySpace, and his numerous other companies and news outlets in America and all over the world. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is ruining our economy having his companies report in destructive ways. Rupert is not an American. His wife is Chinese. He is not a friend of Americans. Boycott Murdock companies.

Certainly You Jest 2008-11-28 04:03:39 PM
Based on the testimony from his sexual harassment trial, clearly Bill-O is a deviant, degenerate scumbag. How does he still have a job?

Same deal with Rush. He actually seems to like to go to third world countries and use pharmaceuticals to assist him in diddling underage boys. How does Limbaugh still have a job as a "conservative commentator"? Do "conservatives" approve of same-sex little-boy diddling?

Apparently these scumbag commentator's employers are greedy enough to overlook their employees' clearly disgusting personal qualities because their audiences hypocritically do the same, leading to lotsa dough for the employers.

Says quite a lot about the employers, the employees, and the audience, to be sure--none of it good.

In fact, it's fairly nauseating.

I hate to "this," but this. I disagree with him a whole lot, but the man is not dumb and gets paid for an image. I always get the feeling he knows what he's doing, and if it works for him then it works for him.

I hate to tell you, but there were laws against that sort of thing before. And while I won't defend child molesters, the same sort of grandstanding - both by politicians and by talk show hosts - that led to that law has also led to situations where a guy who gets caught pissing in an alley behind a bar is subject to lifetime monitoring as a sex offender.

There's a reason the US has the highest prison population in the world, and spends by far the most money on corrections. Several reason, actually. One of them being people who have no obvious expertise in the area of criminal justice yet are willing to defend a totally reprehensible figure like Bill O'Reilly because he took the time to grandstand on an issue that they dimly perceive - on a purely emotional level, obviously - as being relevant.

dogcow69 [TotalFark] 2008-11-28 05:08:15 PM
Wolff describes Murdoch as not wanting News Corp. to be defined by Fox News. And so last year's purchase of the Wall Street Journal, he wrote, "was in no small way about wanting to trade the illiberal-the belligerent, the vulgar, the loud, the menacing the unsubtle-for the better-heeled, the more magnanimous, the further nuanced."

I fail to see how that is accomplished by turning the WSJ into another echo chamber for looney neocon propaganda.

Okay I will be unpopular. I sort of enjoy Bill. He is a bully, a loud mouth, and not a very good guy. But at times he does make good points, and I really do feel he is not always jsut going alogn with the republicans.

He lead that charge in critizing Murdoch on that O.J Simpsons book a year or two back, and things like Jessicas law are very well intentioned. He will, at times, not blindfully follow what bush says, and he seems accepting of Obama since he was elected. I guess in a lot of ways I compaire him with Sean Hanity, whom I think is one of the biggist blow hards on TV. I mean its obvious O'Reilly is republican but he doesnt ALWAYS just go along with the party lines.

He also has intresting Guests. I don't agree with him most of the time, but I do feel he says what he means.

Okay I know I will get hate responces but I have other things I have to do today.

Yeah, that fits Magorn's description. Our prison sentences are ridiculous enough without mandatory sentencing bullshiat.

Even though both Rupie and Willy are players for "Operation Mockingbird" ( yes kids, it's still alive) , the CIA clearly wants to keep the loudmouth mouthpieces for the GOP/Op Mockinbird at a lower noise volume for the time being. It's only the smartest thing for them to do after 8 years of Bush, the McPalin flubs and any other GOP embarrassments during the past 8 years.

also note, even before the viral video of the INside Edition tape was floating around, Bill O' Reilly has always been a short-fused, loud and obnoxious moron.
