Not as bad as Little Richard in Catalina Caper.

Gotta love those horrible beach/dance movies of the '60s.

Listen, the song itself is a great song. It was overplayed to hell and back, but it's a very well written, direct song. It also suffers a bit from the dated synth sound.

Probably not enough bitter or snipe in it for the fark crowd.

ubermensch: Hell on Earth makes people do stuff?

Worse, it makes people dance to this rotting, filthy, dirty, lude, lascivious junk called rhythm and blues! It isn't just the lyrics, it's THE BEAT! How this beat gets them, 400 teenage girls were interviewed as to why they had illegitimate babies.. they said not just the words, THE BEAT! The fertility ranks of the jungle to have the same beat, incorporated in this modern r'n'b to screw 'em up.
/say yeah! wooh!

when I was in Japan, this song was ALWAYS played in their super markets.

Now I can't go into a grocery store here in the US without hearing MMMBop...

Whatever subby. That track was way better than most pop that came out of '68.

er, '64...

FTFY.

Stevie - WTF?

Hey they broke music artists in movies then too. Who knew?

TheDaymoose 2008-11-27 04:14:20 PM
Pretty sure I'm seeing Stevie as an extra at the 1:00 mark in the center right. Unless they're another black guy in a long blue shirt, khakis, and sunglasses with the same frame as him standing around.

Though I doubt the director gives a damn about continuity errors.

gc.c 2008-11-27 04:45:56 PM
Stevie shreds it in that. That was awesome.
