this is Matt Groenings outfit right? He got the Magic Band to reunite and funded them for 2-3 years. They were great. But I think the complete lack of Don's involvement killed it in the end.

The My Bloody Valentine show in September was amazing. God I hope they come back again.

The Jesus Lizard is back?!?

They threw some crazy concerts back in the day.

That show kicked so much ass it wasn't even funny. I listened to Loveless and the EPs for a week straight.

I'd love to see Jesus Lizard again. One of the best live bands I've ever seen.

I saw MBV back in the day (1992) on the US branch of the Loveless tour. My ears are still ringing from it. I was about 10' away from the main PA column during "You Made Me Realise"-- all 30 minutes of it.

And I'd probably sell an organ to see a JL reunion. Damn.

I had free tickets to that show and couldn't go. They still do the guitar holocaust part of "Realise." It's difficult to explain to people just how loud they are in concert.

Damn damn damn damn damn. I'm still kicking myself really really hard for missing MBV this fall. I don't think I can let the Jesus Lizard slip. And Devo. And Spiritualized. And Sleep. Damn.

/Excited, if you couldn't tell.
//Wishes he was older so he could have enjoyed this in the heyday.

Jesus Lizard kicked epic amounts of arse, mainly because David Yow is certifiably insane.

SLEEP

I hope they perform their entire "Dopesmoker" epic.

I am happy Jesus Lizard are back together but I saw them so many times in the 90s. (seen Melvins and Unsane more times than I can count)

Never saw Sleep or Kyuss though.

Wow, two of my favorite bands. I guess an England Fark party is in order.

I'm still a bit miffed MBV stopped just short of Seattle for the reunion tour. Hopefully more dates come out.

yes and no. the deal with ATP is that for each four-day festival they do, of which there's 4 or 5 a year, the artists are picked by a different band each time. so due to being a huge music geek Groening had his weekend a few years ago, Modest Mouse did another, Sonic Youth had theirs, etc.

Yes. Yes it was.

/initially came to say I submitted this with a better headline.
//no one cares though.
///Will be at the probable Chicago show.

Saw the Jesus Lizard in ABQ in the 90's. Some guy was eating a burger in the front row for some reason. Yow took it, removed the meat and put his meat, if you will, in it and tried to feed it to everyone in the front row. Good times.

Ditto, or at least I hope to be at it

I want to see MBV one of these days. Was kind of bummed they didn't at least come to Atlanta. Though I'd like to get into Jesus Lizard. What should I look into?

"Goat" and "Liar" are their best IMHO.

Reunion shows suck.

Either you were there in the first place (lucky you), or you missed it (shiat happens).

Probably, while you are wasting your time at the reunion show, you are missing something that chumps will be going to reunion shows to see in 15+ years.

thats the one. Most bands would have packed up and leaved but not these farkers... business as usual ... love that

I farking love The Jesus Lizard. This is good news.

seabass242 2008-11-26 11:37:18 PM
Side note - I got one of David Yow's nasty shirts he threw in to the audience. My crazy ex-girlfriend secretly threw it away. It was disgusting and full of sweat stains.

Side note #2 - He reached down from the stage and picked my nose, I was kind of shocked. I was even more shocked when he then shoved his finger in my mouth and made me eat my own snot.

I moved a few rows back after that.

/awesome show
//best pure hard rock band ever

Gratch: Jesus Lizard kicked epic amounts of arse, mainly because David Yow is certifiably insane.

God, I never saw them back in the day (too young, wasn't really into this type of music just yet, that kinda crap). I'd rape and pillage to go to this show. Not gonna happen, tho. Bloody hell.

I'm with you on this, usually. But it's the farking Jesus Lizard!

MBV sucks.

90% of Loveless is repetitive, headache forming filler.

Repetitive is bad?

Is getting another blow job repetitive?

In late; was consuming too much food.

I nearly shart myself when I heard the news.I was originally planning to go to the Breeders curated one the next weekend but it looks like I will have to take an extra week off and do both. England is so expensive for us Yanks but damned if naked ranting David Yow isn't worth it.

I wonder if they will be serving boilermakers at the Crazy Horse.

Waiting for the tour announcement before I drop 300 pounds on tickets, and try to coordinate the trip...

/The Jesus Lizard is hands down the best live bands I have ever seen.
//I am elated that in my adult life I can do stupid crap like go to this show.
