"In a crime against nature, your pooler-a genuine White Sox fan, a man who attended his first twi-night doubleheader at the Old Comiskey in 1963, who sat behind third base for the 50th anniversary All-Star Game there in '83, who knew Bill Veeck and the wonders of Disco Demolition night, who saw the great Ozzie [Guillen] play before he managed-has been assigned a seat in the Cubs section."

I totally agree. Ain't no way in hell would I be caught dead in the White Sox section.

That's not really true. Hillary is a Yankees fan / Red Sox fan / "whatever is convenient to pander" fan.

I was hoping Mr. Ligue would be summoned as well. It's good to meet a father who takes an interest in spending quality time with his son. So many fathers these days don't teach their sons useful life skills. These skills include taking your shirt off in public, jumping unsuspecting old men, resisting arrest, and spitting at reporters.

The fact that Obama is a White Sox fan is a good thing.

White Sox fans hate the Cubs with a vehement passion that's hard to exaggerate. But Cubs fans don't hate the Sox, or think much about them at all. Which is part of the reason why Sox fans hate the Cubs. And Cubs fans.

So, if Obama were a Cubs fan he'd piss off a portion of Chicago, but as a White Sox fan he's not pissing off anyone in Chicago. On the baseball front anyway.

\suddenly realizes the cosmic ridiculousness of baseball in general

I am always fascinated by the whole shirtless-crime correlation. Why is it that shirtlessness leads to crime?

He's got a section to the left and one to the right. He could just use left and right to label them. There's no need to get cute about it.

You're right. This is perhaps the greatest outrage ever perpetrated against all that is good and decent in our great republic. This day will live in infamy through the centuries. None of us will ever be quite the same as we were before we knew that human beings could sink to such levels of depravity. Thank god that some few internet warriors were out there to light a candle against the darkness and say "no more!" The world will honor your brave stand "Hat Madder"--let us pray that it will not be too late.

Holly crap dude. We are in two wars and the biggest financial collapse since the great depression and you are upset about the silly labels that Obama campaign uses for sections of the press corp?

Have a little perspective.

So what's your damn point? Are you saying that Obama was a Waikiki Beach Boys fan before he was a White Sox fan?

Lando Lincoln I'd get obscure & figure Obama for a secret supporter of the old PCL's Hawaii Islanders, but I didn't know Kenya banned baseball-these threads are serious business when the snobs show up

Most overlooked part of the article:

Obama is a die-hard White Sox fan, but when it came time to take questions, he didn't favor reporters on that side. Instead, his seemingly random selections were pre-determined by aides.

Great idea. God out, sports in.

Sessions escapes from a snooker and shoots from downtown but Chambliss high sticks him. Batsman McConnell bogies on the foul, tieing the score at 235-Love. Graham gets a flying start and carries down the field, juking out Grassley but getting deadlocked at the scrum. Though Vitter's on the other side of the court, Inhofe's in the dirt and holding his leg, looking for a review by the ref. Hagel calls a time out but Isakson bowls him. Bond hits the bulleye and Elizabeth "Dominos" Dole falls like a house of cards. Crapo: "Checkmate!"

Bunning calls it. HR 847 passes. Cheap beer night is now Thursday instead of Wednesday.
