Agreed.

Nickelback doesn't suck at all, they're just...bland. Listening to them is like drinking room temperature tap water.

I can't wait to be told that I have to respect them because they sell millions of records.

I respect their blandness. They've climbed atop Mount Average and taken in the views of the Banal Valley below them.

So basically submitter outed himself as someone that would prefer Nickelback to Radiohead. Even if you hate Radiohead, that is a hundred kinds of sad. Nickelback? Nickelback???

I mean, if Peter Luger really knew how to make a steak, he'd have more than two locations, amirite?

This thread inspired me to listen to Nickelback.

Not enraged. But it did inpire a meh heard round the world. What an inane string of pop-culture cliche detritus.

It's like Family Guy with a 4-4 beat.

ZAZ [TotalFark] 2008-11-25 09:01:00 PM
The one song of Nickelback's I've heard, I like. Sure it's mainstream radio pop. I like it anyway.

Radiohead I'm supposed to like, I should like, but I don't like. My favorite Radiohead song is a cover by Marillion, a band which was trying to be the new Radiohead and probably doing it better than the original.

Dusk-You-n-Me [TotalFark] 2008-11-25 09:15:51 PM
You don't like Radiohead, fine. But if you think Nickelback has one iota of the talent Radiohead has then you know nothing about music.

And you suck.

organizm 2008-11-25 09:19:00 PM
Instead of commenting, I'll just come back here in 20 years when no one will remember who the hell Nickelback was and OK Computer is still being talked about as one of the greatest albums of all time.

chemical_angel [TotalFark] 2008-11-25 09:42:14 PM
OMG HOW DARE YOU SPEAK ILL OF THE COSMIC MUSICAL GENIUS THAT IS RADIOHEAD!??!??!

Nickelback sucks ass ... most of radiohead sounds like tortured cats though and the cult like fandom is almost as offputting as Juggalos.

shaggenstein 2008-11-25 09:43:11 PM
they're on roadrunner records? isn't that same label as type o negative and fear factory? seems kinda odd. and, yah the subby is trolling, I may not like much they've done after ok computer, but radiohead is one of the most innovative bands around. who else gave away a new album for whatever price you were willing to pay?

Dusk-You-n-Me [TotalFark] 2008-11-25 09:49:42 PM

FlyingPig [TotalFark] 2008-11-25 11:15:38 PM
I don't care for Radiohead either, but that statement is just wrong. Radiohead can at least be called "artists".

I should mention here that the metal band Stone Sour has a song called "Through Glass", that sounds nothing like the rest of their songs, and is intentionally formulated to sound like a generic, middle-of-the-road corporate rock-lite song that you'd hear from the likes of Nickelback, Three Doors Down etc. Except that the lyrics are actually a subtle jab at that kind of fakeness. It's really clever.

The sad irony is, the band could release the song as a single, and it would probably get massive airplay, and you'd have dumbass teenagers everywhere loving it and thinking that was how the band sounds. The joke would be completely lost on them.

Yeah, it was all over the radio last Summer. Between that song and Hinder getting regular airtime, I resolved to never listen to FM radio again. It's now been 14 months.

Bullshiat. Nickelback is like a cold glass of vomit.

wouldestous 2008-11-25 11:51:38 PM
I used to listen to Nickelback back before most people knew who they were but just before they got really popular. Now that everyone knows about them they kind of suck.
Radiohead, too. They used to rock back when i listened to them just before they got really popular but now they suck once everyone started liking them.
Im just too viscerally authentic for the modern corporate mindless programming brainwash world.
