RIP, Kenny.

Apparently they were a big Canadian band in the 80's

Allow me to say that their self titled debut (which this room temp bassist wasn't a part of) is one incredible album

I love being a bass player

Goodnight funnyman. I would however tell him if he were still around that I am " .....CRYIN' ..... Cryin' over yoooooouuu ....!"

/Western Fair concert, mid 80's - about 15 rows back
//could've been Honeymoon Suite

Attention-whore much?

/They weren't 'big', they were HUGE in the 80s.

Older people should lay off the cocaine.

It's always sad when someone dies... now that's outta the way...

i couldn't recall any of their tunes so I trot on over to youTube.

these guys should have spent more time writing songs than doing their hair, but hey who am I to second guess what the little girls want?

Link (new window)

I liked it too. I thought Alien Shores had waaaay too much synth (which is funny because I was a synth player in the 80s) and I stopped listening after that album. Until now, I thought Kenny played keyboards because they appeared when he was added.

The solo stuff of Kenny's I have heard is rather nice.

hey Kenny, your fans are Crying, Crying over you.

I don't think so. Keep moving, buddy.

the only songs i know from them are that "doesn't really matter" song and that "cryin' over you" one...
that video for "doesn't really matter" was pretty damn good for the time [1982?], early MTV era. An early classic IMHO.

Prior to MacLean being pronounced dead, doctors declared "Situation Critical"

Mr_Fabulous 2008-11-25 03:51:26 PM
Jeez, at first I thought the headline did say Concrete Blond bassist. Then I had this joke I was going to post about how she was just named Homeland Security chief and everything. And nobody was going to get the joke, but it didn't matter since I knew how clever it was.

But now I'm all like...meh.

This could be his last mistake.

Well, the sky exploded with a mighty crash as they fell onto the bus,
And the first one said to the bass player I hope you don't cuss.
Fans on the band, fans on the band.
And the fatest man and sailor sam were wedigeing every one

For the fans on the band fans on the band...

/that was much funnier in my head.

I loved the 80s; had a great time and listened to tons of great music then. I have never, ever heard of this band. I just watched two of their videos posted in this thread, and let me say...what complete, utter, trite shiate that was.

They started as a "The Police" tribute, prior to Kenny's tenure. I am surprised as to how many of my friends knew him.
R.i.P. Ken
