The difference is that the security guy in this story was probably all scared. Indy in that scene just didn't want to put up with any more bullshiat.

the scene was ad-libed because Harrison Ford was tired of Indyshiat

In all seriousness though, Anon's dubbed this guy Epic Swords Guy.

With all the protesting we've done around pretty much all Scientology owned property in Los Angeles, it's entirely possible that the guard was on edge WITHOUT the sword wielding maniac.

Although for those of us who DO protest, we have now learned that if they feel threatened, they have no problem shooting us...

/Does not plan on bringing swords to the next protest

I saw that headline on my email before I logged in here but DRTFA. Now I'm bummed. I was hoping some hero had nailed some asshole Scientologist IN their building.

Instead I find a brave ninja was assassinated by a Disciple of Xenu. How tragic. May I ask for a moment of silence, followed by the Two Minute Hate for the Xenobian Devils.

So Scientology centers have guards armed with semi-automatic handguns?

I wonder if those guns are there to keep the public out or the members in.

Probably both.

Yup, they couldn't get the scene from the original script right after many tries, so someone just suggested that Indy shoot the guy.

DPoem 2008-11-24 12:25:12 AM
FTFA: "Calls to Scientology spokespeople were not immediately returned Sunday.

The Celebrity Centre includes a seven-story Norman-revival landmark that towers over the Hollywood freeway and used to be a residential hotel for movie stars.

The castle-like facility now serves as "a home for the artist, a place where he can come and learn, attend seminars, meet other artists and even perform at our many showcases and events," according to the Centre's Web site.
"

Is it just me, or does that article on the slaying of a man turn into a freakin' advertisement for the cult?

First you farkers made /v/ into /b/, now it's leaking over to Fark? Hell no, keep that shiat in /b/ son. I'd like to have some parts of the internet I can still go to without being showered with unfunny memes and deviant porn.

/Come to think of it, Fark was already filled with unfunny memes and deviant porn.

I thought the story was that on the day the shoot was scheduled, Ford had mexi-arse and the gripes were gonna make it difficult to perform the fight scene, so he just shot the guy so he could go leak a dump.

My wife and I actually got married at that place. It was kind of weird. They advertise it in wedding magazines as the Manor Hotel. They let you in through the side where you can't really see, or don't notice the big Scientology sign. It was a real bargain, and an awesome place to get married. We had second thoughts once they told us what the place really was, but they didn't even bother trying to get us to convert or even really pitch us on the whole Scientology thing. Turned out to be a really kick-ass wedding. The only drawback is that they still send us their stoopid Celebrity magazine... Oh well.
