Well, how are you supposed to shoot at deer without being armed?

Well, Texas allows evil, doddering old men with a pacemaker-driven stone for a heart, and a soul permanently stored on Satan's bookshelf to shoot lawyers, so what does that say about who runs THAT state?

Let's not make judgments here; we are talking about lawyers after all.

Imagine the kind of hijinks you could pull with that kind of scope. Someone with few scruples could use a blind man to commit his murders for him.

Well, since john Kerry did better than Obama in Missouri I think it is fair to say that the state's collective neck could use some cream.

An argument can be made for thinning out the numbers to preserve the tort supply.

That's very clever.

When subby crawls out from under his/her rock and sees something they dont understand it must be a redneck at fault. Am I getting this correct?

There's urban ones too. Such as the ones that don't know where cows and lettuce come from, and don't really understand "organic".

It's just another example of the irrational fear some people have towards guns. I saw a woman flying a plane who had no arms, everyone thought it was great and heroic how she's able to do that. Add a gun to the equation and now it's back-woods redneck craziness.

wildsnowllama 2008-11-24 02:32:07 AM
If people are so worried about it they could just fill the gun with blanks...

Blind Man's Hunting Partner: "Wow! You got another one! Zing! Another one, right between the eyes! 28 Deer! You Are On A Roll Today!!"

My dad is an amputee, with his left hand and part of the forearm missing (he was in Vietnam and sustained heavy injuries, the worst being in his left arm). He has a prosthetic now, and he is a very accurate shot with a rifle and crossbow. He hunts with both (not at the same time, obviously, only when they're in season). Actually, he's up at his cabin this weekend hunting with some old friends.

Just because a person is an amputee, doesn't immediately make them unfit for certain activities.

OK, but wouldn't it be easier to hunt one-armed, one legged guys that can't see? I mean, they wont run fast and can't see you sneaking up on them. (not sure where the 1 arm comes in, maybe easier to give them the coup de grace if you dont' make a clean kill with the shot? )

Uh- so every state is run by red-necks? As far as I know, there are no state restrictions that a forbid someone from hunting based on their disabilites. Could be wrong- don't know every hunting law for every state.

True, but one would think it is usually a good idea for someone to see what they are aiming at.

Blind people, the reason people think automatic rifles should be used for hunting, because if the first 200 rounds don't bring em down, the 201st might.

I just got an image in my head of about three grizzly bears getting together and taking their friend Jimmy, who lost his eyes and a front and back legs to a pack of wolves a few years back, sneaking into some guy's house while he sleeps and throwing poor disabled two-legged grizzly bear Jimmy on top the unsuspecting bastard while he sleeps and letting ol' Jimmy go to town in a mauling he hasn't experienced in years, really reminding him what it means to be a grizzly. We all get by with a little help from our friends I guess.

It's good to be on top of the food chain

You do realize that when you hunt with an AR15 you are still limited to a five round magazine? And that spray and pray only applies to automatic weapons, which the "assault rifles" you are referring to are not.

ANd I saw a documentary about this guy who was blinded in Iraq. His dad took him out with a .44 magnum with a laser so he could help him line up his shot, and he took a deer. Hunting with a handgun is hard enough when you have all of your senses. Doing it blind is amazing.

I live in Columbia, MO. This state is full of rednecks.

Two friends of mine strung their deer up in the front yard yesterday and grilled some as they were cutting the meat off. They had plenty of Coors to go along with it.

Doesn't seem abnormal if you've ever hunted, but my friend lives in a densely packed neighborhood with 1/2 acre lots less than 2 miles from downtown.

I consider myself a neo-redneck. I know how to fix my car and live off the land, but I enjoy good beer and steaks without ketchup.

Bucky Katt: but why does a deer have to die?

We can't have cougars, wolves and coyotes running around because they kill children. Think of the children! (and the cows)

Since we have done a good job of nearly eradicating the top predators, deer populations are growing unchecked. Missouri uses the deer season to control the population, and they do a very good job of proper deer management here.

I am not a deer hunter myself, but many in my family are. All of them hunt for the meat. I have no problems with someone hunting deer within the limits set up to protect the population and using the meat. That being said, I hate trophy hunters who are just there for the rack.
