The peacock one is completely awesome. I like this woman. As for the people saying "Oh dear it's cruel!" She probably works fast and doesn't pinch. Plus, dogs have no fashion sense, so it's all good.

The camel is awesome. The others... not so much (especially since every time I refreshed the page, only like half would load).

How do you discover that your life's calling is humiliating a dog? I wonder if this chick learned how to groom dogs in prison. There are several women's prisons who train inmates to groom dogs. It's the "sister" program to the prison dog training programs. She certainly looks like she could have been in prison, and after seeing what she's done to that poor poodle, it looks like she could stand to go back.

I raise Poodles, so I'm really getting a kick...

You have to do the grooming at the show. You can't do it in advance. You bring in a clean, brushed dog & have a set time to get it ready. The Poodles typically have 6 months to a year's worth of hair growth. They have hair, like people, and it grows constantly, which is why they need to be clipped.

The dogs start getting groomed at 3 weeks. They will be getting groomed for the rest of their lives, so they have to learn all about it. We do ours every three weeks, so they always look & feel good.

If the dog doesn't like the grooming, you keep it in a basic kennel cut. If a dog likes the attention that goes with grooming, you can do more. The ones that go to these events love the attention and love showing off. And you can tell when you have a dog that doesn't have the show "attitude". A dog like that is miserable and unhappy at a show, so it goes to a home where it will be loved and has people to play with.

My white Standard (big Poodle)showgirl loves having all the fluffed hair. When we had to shave her down, she sulked & didn't want to eat. She's fluffy right now, but she also got into something and is matted, so we may have another drama on our hands with her.

They want steak and are trained to behave a certain way. Did it ever occur to your that your reaction to the dog when it is fluffy is different than when it is shaved, and perhaps that has trained it to be happy when it is fluffy?

i have never posted before but i must jump to the defense of Khazar-Khum on this one.

first of all, there's no way a dog who hated being groomed would sit still for even part of such an intricate grooming.

my parents own old english sheepdogs, and when, for whatever reason, they have to be shaved down, they are mortified. they like being fluffy, and chauncey [may he rest in peace] loved having a mohawk.
