It completely depends on the denomination/theology they follow. There are some smaller, though significantly more vocal, denominations that fall in to the dominionist school of thought who essentially believe that the United States is basically a state raised by god to protect over Israel. They commonly believe our government was created to be christian one. Raising someone who is a non-christian to preside over what they believe is a christian government, is an affront to their primary beliefs.

Honestly though even among evangelical Christians, I think it is not a highly prevalent belief. There are always the other extreme, like German baptists who believe that are not a part of the world, just merely in it. Many won't vote, and stick to the tried and true, render unto Caesar.

OTOH this is all silliness, since Obama, while may very well be ethnically Muslim, he is a christian. I was under the impression that was the whole point of evangelicalism, convert the unbelievers.

I am a Christian and also an American. I see nothing wrong with a Muslim being president (not that I believe Obama is). Our country was founded on religious tolerance. Thomas Jefferson even had a copy of the Quran. I also do not believe the majority of Muslims are terrorists. Like Christianity, there are several violent cults that twist the word of God/Allah/FSM to their own goals.

If you want to rag on Obama, do it for what he has actually said and done. There is plenty there already.
