Minor correction: their songs were featured in Back to School, Bachelor Party, Fast Times, and TCM 2. AFAIK Weird Science was the first one they wrote specifically for a movie.

And don't forget he was Jack Skellington's singing voice in Nightmare Before Christmas. And he did the theme for The Simpsons.

One of the more impressive recent accomplishments was doing both the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Corpse Bride soundtracks/scores at the same time.
